If I was in the market for a jeep type SUV I would be fine with the turbo-4. It's got enough torque to get me by and buys me a manual transmission. I still want the simplicity of a straight axle, and I really wish Ford would have gone that route. There is a reason people buy the shit out of F-250s and F-350s over Chevys. They are easy as hell to lift and they squeak less after 20 years. You can also access things like the oil pan, etc., easier.

no manual with the 6cylinder
Now that is unfortunate. But the dealer performance tune for the 2.3 (320hp and 355lb ft in the Ranger) nearly makes up for it. I really hope Jeep responds in a way other than just some ultra expensive 392 variant. A 320hp 355lb ft 4 banger competitor sounds great.

Just curios ,has anyone else noticed when you watch videos of the 8spd 0-60 pulls,Tach never drops below 4000 and carries to red line . My MT JT seems to kind of fall flat after anything over 4500. Wondering if the complete engine mapping calibration is vastly different.
Thanks

Does anyone else inadvertently hit the climate control fan knob and/or buttons while rowing gears? Could be that I just have a free floating finger.

Yep, and that switches off the climate control, and it defaults to some setting I must have set on a cold day in February and I don't catch it until the cabin temp creeps up to the point where I realize I am sweating profusely.

Also, a few times it has come to my attention that for some unknown period of time I've been driving with my emergency flashers on.

Is it possible to get a supercharger for the manual trans or are they only for autos? I think that might be the way I'm heading in 3 years when I warranty is up.

I know that Edelbrock is working on one as I was approached to volunteer my truck for the development.

My mom had that happen the day she drove her JL off the lot. She got a mile down the road and couldn't figure out why her flashers were on and she couldn't find the switch to turn them off. She went back to the dealer who then showed her where the switch was located. To my mom's defense, she is 75 and had been used to driving her TJ for the past 20 years...yes she still drives a manual trans.

Lets hear everyone who ordered a MT sound off. When did you order and what status are you in? Has anyone passed D status? I asked Jeep Cares if my order was not progressing past D because of the manual transmission and their response was there were no delays associated with my order.

I Ordered on 4/26 and have been in D status for over 3 weeks.
Hey Everyone! New to the forum, I ordered my 6MT June 10th, still in D1 status. Its a loaded Rubicon, trail cam, spray in bed liner, tonneau cover, 8.4uconnect, all the fun things that make the build process longer apparently. Scheduled to be built on the 28th of July and delivered sometime in August. I can't wait to take delivery and get out on the trails! I'm also in Canada so updates on my build are very limited as I don't have access to Jeep Chat. Anyone have other solutions for updates in Canada? Other than bugging my sales guy every day?

I'm really enjoying the 2" space between the reverse lock ring. It's so much nicer grabbing the sphere to shift with my full hand and not accidentally grab the lock ring too.
Is it hard to get into reverse?

Here's a question for the MT club: I have had my MT for 1 week, and I have noticed that to start the engine, I have to hold the starter button while it cranks up. I asked a friend who owns an AT Wrangler, and he said he just needs to press once, and the ECM cranks until it fires up (similar to every new vehicle). Can anyone else confirm their MT must have the start button held to start? If I simply press once and release, the engine doesn't crank long enough to start and the switch just illuminates "run".
