Every time I connect the 7 pin trailer plug to the Gladiator I get an error code of two green and one blue from the led. Usually I just unplug the 7 pin connection and plug it in again and the problem goes away - solid blue indicator. Some times I have to unplug the controller, wait, and then reconnect. Has anyone else had a similar situation with your brake controller?

Works great when it’s working, but I can’t imagine it’s normal to have to plug and unplug every time.

What does the manual say the error message indicates?

May need to contact Redarc, could be a defective controller, or need a firmware update. Could just be a grounding issue.

Does your controller harness have the blocking diode in it?

I used the Ram harness and swapped the blue and black wire positions. I may get the Tekonsha harness and try that one. I’ll check over the trailer harness as well.

Do you have multiple trailers or a tester by chance? I had some strange issues with my landscape trailer. Ground connection had worked itself a little lose. After that it was solid

If I don't push the plug into the receptacle far enough or I'm not getting a good contact due to the trailer plug being corroded a little the light will be flashing when I get to the cab. I wiggle the plug a little and it's good.
The video shows the light colors you mentioned in your post and those are set up codes. I assume you followed the break in procedure when you put it in because it sounds as though you have used it to tow already. If that code is intermittent, check and see if the control box is secured in place and not loose where it would move. Remember it operates as it senses the braking inertia of the vehicle, and if the box moves any it will not operate correctly.
Mr._Bill is correct about contacting Redarc if you are having trouble.

To clarify my OP, most times when I plug in I get a flashing green light, but I think you may be on to something.

The last time I had an issue getting the solid blue light it was raining the night before. Normally I plug in, unplug and plug in again and then I get the solid blue. I had to actually unplug the controller and wait a minute and reconnect. That caused it to go into the learning mode.

I will go over the trailer plug to clean off any corrosion and tighten up the terminals. The trailer is new, but it sat on the lot for over a year.

On a side note, I don’t get any led indicators unless the trailer is connected. Is that normal?

Here is a contact from REDARC. I sent him your post and he read it. This is his letter to me.

Hey Kenny!

I hope you are well my friend.

Thank you for responding to that enquiry. I will say that it seems like his Tow Pro is loosing power (BLUE GREEN is calibration mode and will only appear if the unit looses power, or a fresh installation).

My gut feel on this is that the Tow Pro is loosing power for some reason. May be a bad connection or poor earth etc.

As you and another member stated he should call me for a chat, please feel free to pass on my details Kenny or post my response above.

Best regards,

Todd Simpson

Correct. But if you push it unconnected to the trailer it will light up but I can't remember what color.

That is normal. Will show nothing if no trailer. However if you press it, it will still light up in some way even with no trailer.

Verified that mine does as well. Lights blue after a second as you hold it in.

Did you contact Redarc?
I went over the trailer plug to clean and tighten the terminals. When I plugged into the truck, everything lit up normally the first time. I won’t be able to go camping again until next weekend, so hopefully everything is good to go!

I had to activate the calibration on mine twice!

I just had this same problem intermittently over a recent 2 week trip. Once you cleaned and tightened the terminals, did you have any additional problems or did that take care of it?
