I have a hardtop which I added the Bestop Sunrider on. I now know how loud it can get on the highway. I can live with it, but was wondering how loud the full soft top gets. Or is it the same amount of noise as the Bestop Sunrider.

Haven't tested the Sunrider so can't compare. My premium soft top is very quiet unless speed is over 70 mph, particularly 80 mph (legal in Utah) combined with high winds. There was a tsb (there was a thread on this forum) to replace early soft tops with one that is 0.4" shorter to stretch it tighter--it is mostly the front panel that vibrates at high speeds in high winds. Other than the above extreme situation, my soft top is as quiet or more so than most hardtops, such as on my two JK's.

I don't find mine to be that noisy. Is it a bit louder than the Hard top yes but not that much and only on highway speeds. As mentioned above it does get louder when you get up in the 75 + range and have high winds but even then its nothing that is really bad. Believe me my wife would let me know if she thought it was to loud and she was just the opposite. In City driving I don't find there is any difference in the sound levels.
All worth it for the fun and enjoyment I get from dropping the top and going topless or with the bun.

Thanks for the responses, was thinking of getting the full soft top and swapping back and forth depending on weather. Thought the full soft top might be louder then the Sunrider because the entire roof is material.

I have an LE with the hardtop and headliner.
I got a soft top in the Spring.
Although the soft top is definitely more noisy than the hardtop, I am surprised at how quiet is is.
I don't have to turn the radio up, or raise my voice during a conversation.
I don't have any experience with the sunrider.

I get no significant wind noise other than what I mentioned above. I bought a take-off hardtop but now I don't plan to use it. It seems that the crooks who would cut the soft top or rear window to get in would just use a brick on the side glass with a hardtop. Thus, little if any difference in security. Just keep any valuables with you or at least out of sight with either top.

Really isn't that noticable noise wise. Rain can get load I guess but road noise isn't noticable.

Honestly my only issue if I had to choose one is heat when it is closed. Being a long torsoed person I can feel the heat radiate off of it if it is closed (isn't often but still). Need like direct sun and 90+ degrees to cause that issue.

I was surprised how quiet the premium fabric softop is compared to a regular softop (non-premium) on my 2007 JK. As mentioned, at higher speed with winds it can be a little noisy, but fnot as much as that JK (even with a hardtop, LOL). For daily around town use, it's quite comfortable.

Yes!! Funny you say that, I kept joking about either his first or middle name should be Valentino while she was pregnant, the wife shot that down. I almost got away with C. E. but her cousin already had a Colin.

Ive been to every MotoGp race when Laguna Seca was on the MotoGp calendar. I have 4 Rossi signatures and a Colin Edwards. Most prized signature is Rossi’s on a brand new AGV Mugello (Face) helmet. I have it in a display case. I have the picture to prove I got it signed in person by him.

That's awesome!! I loved that Mugello helmet. I unfortunately have not had the pleasure of attending a race or meeting the man. Indy would have been my best shot but it didn't work out that year. I did meet Colin many moons ago in AMA at Mid Ohio. I'm hoping they come back to the US at least once more before he hangs up his helmet. Damn pandemic.

Sorry folks, I know we wandered way off topic, but you can't put Rossi and MotoGP fans in the same room, that's where the convo will go lol.

This is shocking to learn. I was dead set on ordering with HT and then buying an after market ST next spring. But now I'll consider the other way around
