Given the same of very similar tread, does one behave preferentially on dry, wet or snowy roads?

Narrow tires do better on snow. Even the tire sites suggest that. Because the weight is concentrated and you don't float on the snow, you bit into it.Given the same of very similar tread, does one behave preferentially on dry, wet or snowy roads?
I was intending to run the 37/11.50r18 ridge grappler as a daily/long trip setup but there were issues with this planIMO the wider a tire is the worse it performs in wet and snow, they also follow grooves more on the highway. I prefer a 11.5” or 285 wide tire for all around use and daily driving.
