Ok, I got it on and dialed in. I'm still on stock tires while I wait for the 37 bfg ko2's to get out of quarantine.
The ride is just like stock! Maybe even more controlled feeling...not nearly as much floaty sway feeling. This kit is a home run!
I took plenty of before measurements and angles in order to make it easier to dial in. I'm very very happy with it.

@Clayton Off Road Could you suggest a maximum shock length for your 3.5 kit before we need to change the front drive shaft?

I've been eyeing to pair Fox 2.0 monotubes with your kit. The 3.5"-4" Fox shocks has a max length of 28.5". The 3" Fox Shocks has a max length of 27.5". Which Fox shock do I pair with your 3.5" kit without having to replace the front drive shaft?

I have the Clayton 3.5 overland kit and I bout the fox 2.0 for the 3.5- 4 but I think you can even use the 4.5-6 inch lift fox shocks too.

Have you tested at max articulation? Front drive shaft doesn't bind with the Fox 3.5"-4" monotubes and full droop?

No. I live in Florida it’s very flat here. If I ever find that I am not getting the articulation I need I will swap out for longer shock. I know the guy on YouTube from JK Gear and Gadgets installed the 4.5-6 inch on his gladiator with the Clayton kit without any issues.

Does this lift require new wheels or spacers?
new shocks?
New driveshaft?
How much of a trail capability does it add assuming I am running. 37? And 488 on a rubicon?
so what would be a good budget for this kit to complete it in such a way that with caferul driving I could run. A level 4 trail ?

Well, I just cut the dang bolt....wasn't too bad. What size bolt is the upper control arm bolt?

The 07-09 JK's had this exact same issue from the factory, just like you saw in that video another member posted! We are working on finishing and getting our actual Diesel specific kits up onto the site soon for both the JL and JT, in which issues like this will be addressed with new hardware and updated instructions. If you haven't been able to source the new bolt locally let me know, I can have one sent out to you today!

I picked up a replacement bolt at the local hardware store. The thread is different, but that doesn't matter since I also picked up a nut with it.
It's really not a big deal....for some reason I was hesitant to cut on the brand new bolt on the brand new Jeep! Weird I know..
Btw, thanks for sending the 3.5" front springs, she sits nice and level still on stock tires and wheels.

We always recommend pairing a set of shocks that matches the amount of lift being applied, for example if you intend on going with the 3.5" kit, we would recommend a set of shocks intended by the manufacturer for 3-4" of lift. However, if you do want to install a set of shocks that allows for a little bit more travel, and you are not planning on replacing the front driveshaft, adding a set of limiting straps and adjusting them accordingly to prevent damage to your factory driveshaft wouldn't be a bad idea!

In that respect, if one were to go with the 2.5" kit, can the stock Fox shocks still be used with shock extensions? I know for a fact, anything above that would need new shocks...

With any lift kit you are going to need new shocks and wheels, (or wheel spacers), and potentially a new driveshaft as well. New shocks will be necessary in order to accommodate the additional height added to the vehicle, stock wheels cause rubbing on control arms when moving up to larger and wider tires, and the factory front driveshaft does not hold up well in a lifted vehicle that sees a lot of offroad use and flexing. If you don't plan on doing a ton of offroading or flexing the vehicle out, you may be able to get away with your factory driveshaft for a while before needing to upgrade.

Typically shock extensions are not something that we suggest, however they are an option available to you if that's the route you do want to go. The problem with shock extensions is that they do not address anything other than the length of the shocks, such as valving and weight management, therefore you really aren't going to be experiencing the best ride possible.

So then looking at the ride right 2.5 @$1300. You would need shocks $600+/- wheels ~1000.00 drive shaft 575 whic would. Equal $3475. Before you buy tires 1500 and regear 1500 bringing the grand total to about $6400.00. Ouch isn’t there a less expensive way to accomplish running 37s? No matter what you are going to have 3000 in gears and tires. I need to win the lottery

Before regearing I highly suggest your drive it first. I have 37s on and with the 8spd automatic, I don't feel the need to re-gear at all. The only thing required is a programmer to recalibrate your shift points and speedometer. I use the Tazer mini. Running 37" patagonias and 4.10 gearing. Works just fine.
