Why was Gator and Gobi dropped?

I don't understand how gobi and gator were deemed low demand and they kept so many shades of grey. Considering the type of vehicle and it's military heritage, they should always have either sarge, gobi, or gator available at all times.

What Jeep needs is to add five or six more grays. When I bought my JT the dealer had one Gator and one Gobi and 10 or 12 grays. I like my Gator. I went to the dealer to look at the Gobi but it was a base sport.

Well, they have 168 versions of gray in their history, so there is a good chance we'll see more.

I wanted Firecracker Red pretty hard. My dealer marked it up like crazy. Felt like I "settled for" Gobi and now I love it. Can't imagine another color. Get compliments on it like crazy.

I was in the same boat, wanting the Gator color in the diesel platform. When I found out that both Gobi and Gator were being discontinued, I had to rush around any find a 2020 with the color and options that I wanted albeit with the 3.6. But very glad that I got one of the last Gator Gladiators in my area,

Gator was late release, then discontinued early.

Makes no sense to me, the color choices they made. Hopefully a Dark Earth or Coyote will make it's way into the color mix in the near future.

I thought I read that Covid caused low sales and that caused them to just limit production overall and thus limit color options keeping "safer" color options out there.

When you adjust for only 4wd Crew Cabs, the Gladiator matched the Colorado and Ranger in Q3 and Q4 of 2020.

I don't know why Gobi was scrapped but the thought of a 5000lb Gator might scare the crap outta people...
