Is it because "gladiator" or is it not a thing anymore?
I've waved at a ton of people and they just /ignore.
Even the lifted guys.
What gives?
There are **A LOT** of grade A douche bags driving jeep.

Ive had wrangler owners pull a wave back; one stick her hand out the window to give me a thumbs down.

Meet them on the trail and theyre douchy too.

I figure if i had a YJ and could stomach; years later; waving to a 4 door JK they should be able to wave to me. So how do i fix it? By waving to every cool modded truck i see on the road regardless of make or model.

If wrangler owners want to be douchy and break the purpose of the jeep wave; ill break their world by waving at every cool rig I see. They do it because theyre douche bags in desperate need of identity.

Totally agree about the JKUs, when they first came out I remember All my friends and I had YJs and would talk crap how stupid they looked... long, weird proportioned, 4 doors...

Now they are such the norm, two door jeeps look funny. I’m sure as the culture changes... it’ll be the same thing with JTs!

I'd say close to 70% of people in my area wave. Interestingly it's Wrangler people, never Cherokee people. I've only seen two other JT's in the past couple of months.

This being my first Jeep... during the first few days I definitely was like "who the fk was that?" as people kept waving at me ?

Weekdays, especially around the end of the workday, I don't get many waves returned. On the weekend if I head off the key most all Jeeps wave. The difference seems to be the end of a workday vs heading to the beach!

I didn't get waves even in the JKU much less the Gladiator. My daughter tells me to stop waving already.

I get about 70% in my area, there does not appear to be any pattern to those who don’t vs those who don’t.

The 4 door Wrangler has taken the place of a lot of the big suv's that women are driving and I only get about 10% of my waves returned from them. Mostly, I don't think people who have bought their 1st Jeep know about the wave. I know I didn't, until I joined a Jeep forum about one month later. I have purchased three Jeeps over the past ten years and it would be nice if Jeep included in their paperwork, about the Jeep wave. If I was a salesman, I would mention about the Jeep comaraderie and it might help influence someone to purchase a Jeep. There are times that I failed to wave, because I didn't notice the Jeep until it was going past me in the other direction. So, how much is ignorance, didn't see, or don't care to wave? ?

I wave at other Jeeps and they usually wave at me. But I will say, coming home from work, I am in la la land and I wave after I have been passed. So I must look like a non waver jackwagon to the folks I pass by coming home. They are probably saying "Look at that guy with the big tires! What a snooty jackwagon. Won't even wave" . Little do them fools know, I waved... just a bit late for them to see.
