Walking away would have been tough for us, because we would have just driven 3 1/2 hours. We'd have been at their mercy. And it wasn't just the F rating at BBB, it was the reviews. One of the customer reviews had the name of the salesman we were working with. And the guy was literally running the same playbook on us. At the end of the day, I'm more than happy with my Willys. We've pretty much gone ahead and spend the money already on a new house anyway. Everything worked out for the best. We dodged a bullet.I would not base my decision on a BBB rating.
If you look at the complaints, most are from people that were naive.
I did not see any complaints regarding failed to honor a quoted price.
Don't get me wrong. I think they will try to tack on every charge they can, but it is the buyers obligation to make sure that does not happen. You have the check, you have the power.
Dealing with them is not for the faint of heart. Your decision, but my guess is they would sell you the vehicle for the quoted price. They have what you want and you have what they want. If they don't sell it to you for the quoted price, walk away.
I was willing to buy local for a little more, but Lindsay was $3,500 cheaper. I bought from them.
Just have to be on your toes, especially with high volume dealers.
