I would not base my decision on a BBB rating.
If you look at the complaints, most are from people that were naive.
I did not see any complaints regarding failed to honor a quoted price.

Don't get me wrong. I think they will try to tack on every charge they can, but it is the buyers obligation to make sure that does not happen. You have the check, you have the power.

Dealing with them is not for the faint of heart. Your decision, but my guess is they would sell you the vehicle for the quoted price. They have what you want and you have what they want. If they don't sell it to you for the quoted price, walk away.

I was willing to buy local for a little more, but Lindsay was $3,500 cheaper. I bought from them.

Just have to be on your toes, especially with high volume dealers.
Walking away would have been tough for us, because we would have just driven 3 1/2 hours. We'd have been at their mercy. And it wasn't just the F rating at BBB, it was the reviews. One of the customer reviews had the name of the salesman we were working with. And the guy was literally running the same playbook on us. At the end of the day, I'm more than happy with my Willys. We've pretty much gone ahead and spend the money already on a new house anyway. Everything worked out for the best. We dodged a bullet.

I think you went the right way. We were in the buying process with Lindsay too (we are in Stafford), and their salesman was really awful at just about everything. We had the price worked out, incentives, etc. Then it was the 'online price is different' routine. I made a deal with two other dealerships simultaneously and gave Lindsay the best deal I had and the salesman said there was no way the other dealer was able to do it for that price. We bought at Safford in Fredericksburg, ordered the Gladiator for right at 5% under invoice, plus incentives at time of delivery (hoping they extend the $1500). I let the salesman at Lindsay know and he responded with 'your loss'. LOL!

I’m kind of in the same boat. Looking at an out of state Willys that’s showing at 17% under MSRP. Seems too good to be true. Asked my local dealer if he could trade for it and he says he’ll call me back today. Hoping I don’t have to be a veteran, first responder who just graduated from college to qualify for that pricing. I’ll buy a plane ticket and drive it back if the price is real and my dealer can’t match though I’m not getting my hopes up.

Hi Gobi-Wan, do you mind sharing the Criswell contact?

On mine my MSRP was 40,385 and I paid 34,163 (plus $300 doc fee and taxes and tags) after the $2000 manufacturer rebate that was running at the time. That's 8% under invoice plus another $2000 off in rebates. Mine was a custom order through Criswell in Maryland, it was a simple no haggle deal all done by email. Since yours is a few hundred more the mine at MSRP, I'd say getting it for a thousand less then mine would be a good deal, but I'm not sure what the manufacturer rebates are currently.
