I think I know the answer, but I have an Overland with Rubi shocks and springs which added about 1-1/2" of lift over stock Overland and am considering the Mopar 2" lift. My question is will it add 2" from the stock Overland height or the height it sits now with the Rubi take-offs? Don't want to spend the money and time if I will only net 1/2" or so.

It's typically 2" over a stock rubicon height netting even more from a stock sport or overland. I went from a Sport S to rubicon take offs and got about 1" lift and I'd say I got and additional 2" after adding the Mopar 2" lift. Did not take any official measurements though just eyeing it.

The Mopar lift gives you about 2-3/4 inches of lift, some a little less, it all depends on how much weight you have added to your jeep. If you got 1-1/2 inches of lift from the Rubi take-offs then your probably going to end up with a additional 1-1/4 inches of lift from where you are now, so your looking at another 1-1/4 inches of lift. You could really throw a 1 inch spacer on and be out way cheaper than buying the Mopar lift and be about the same lift. I got rubi take off front springs on mine and 2.5" ReadyLift spacer lift kit Installed.

Thanks for the info. That is exactly why I was asking. If I wouldn't get 2" over where it sits now I was thinking spacer lift and save some money. Will be replacing the 33" tires with 35"s as well. Now to figure out a light weight rim/tire combo.

BFG ko2s are about the lightest 35's you can buy, 63lbs a piece. I just took a set off mine and bought a set of 37's goodyear MTR's. I really like the BFGs because they are functional and quiet.

I have the 2" Mopar Lift on my Overland (which I love btw). The measurements from the ground to the edge of the fender on stock vs lifted.

Stock JTO: 36.5" F / 39.75" R

JTO w/2" Mopar: 39.75" F / 41" R

So the lift does more for the front than the rear and leave a bit of the rake on the overall JTO.

Did you regear when going to 37's? I've read on here, I'm sure some just opinions, that 35's are about the limit for the 3.73. I'm sure it depends on the weight of the wheels/tires and other additions like bumpers and winches. I like in Houston so pretty flat driving but do make a once a year trip to Colorado to ski and no sure how it would do with the heavier 37's in the mountains.

When you say edge of the fender where exactly do you mean? I'm right at 40.25" to the top of the plastic trim around the wheel well opening and I have Rubi shocks/springs and 3/4" spacer in front.

No but I have a Max Tow with 4.10 gears. I'm averaging between 17.1 and 17.4 mpgs right now on the 37's which is better than I thought I would do. That's 50/50 city hwy driving and speedo is.dead on after I recalibrated it. Sits like this now with the Rubicon front springs and Max tow rear springs and 2.5" SST Readylift. If you got 3.73 gears then you will do a lot worse, a buddy of mine isn't even getting 17 mpgs on 35's in his Overland.

Looked like this on 35's I was getting closer to 19 mpgs on the BFGs.

Bottom edge of the fender. So it looks like you get just about the same front height with the Rubi springs and spacer.

IMO the Mopar lift shines not on the amount of height but the ride quality. I live in MN so we have a lot of cracks and potholes from winter weather. Those jolts feel a lot more muted after the lift was installed.

I can appreciate that. Headed to Colorado in 2 weeks for a ski trip so I will get a chance to see how it does with those same type of roads. Town we stay in has crappy roads in the same condition you are talking about.

On an otherwise stock Sport Max Tow I got 2.5" of front lift from stock. I believe a stock max tow only sits about 1/2" lower than a Rubicon.
