This might be my favorite build on this forum... it’s way beyond my needs, but damn it’s cool to look at and must be even better to drive! looking forward to more pics and hopefully soon with it out on the trails.

Any build plans for the 4XE?

Thanks! I can’t wait to enjoy it again(especially out on the trails). We were building up for EJS, but unfortunately things just didn’t come together how they were supposed to.

We are going to do a fairly “lightweight”build on the 4XE. I ordered a set of 37” KO2’s today, and a budget boost to get us by until we decide on a full suspension setup. Currently deciding between a set of 17” Weld or Black Rhino wheels. The Weld wheels with 37s would put us 10lbs heavier per corner than the factory wheel/tire setup. My wife generally drives a max of 15 miles per day, it would be nice to keep that much electric range when all is said and done.

Installed a RIVAL4X4 roof rack, and had a chance to flex it out. Still waiting on a few more parts for the hydro assist to make it drivable.

Rear is still a work in progress. Once the bed is finished I will begin working on the rear coilovers.
The rear is a 3 link setup(4 with the track bar)with the two lowers mounting outside of the frame to stock axle brackets. The upper arm mounts to a truss welded to the axle and a cross brace welded to the frame.

Yeah I saw the side view and noticed you didn't have the rear lower frame mounts hanging way down. They're in an absolutely terrible location for trail use. I dig it!

Way too long..... They make great axles, but waiting 4-5 months is not something I would be willing to do again.

Finally got to drive her home ?
Unfortunately it doesn’t fit in my current garage so she will remain a shop queen until I make some garage modifications.

Installed a Set of KC Flex led’s on the Dynatrac knuckles.

Sadly it’s been a reality up until this point. We were building to make EJS, but unfortunately with parts delays that didn’t happen. With other work at the shop it’s been hard to take more than a day or two off. Living in Houston that doesn’t get you to many fun wheeling spots(that aren’t mud holes)

Gonna have to make a drive to find rocks big enough to roll over. Does Texas have to import mountains? That is impressive. Yeah yeah.....all things in Texas are bigger. Nice rig!
