I feel you - some places have inventory systems that aren't automatic/up to date. Super frustrating.

That sounds just like what I went through a couple weeks ago from 4wd.com.. Took them 10 days to tell me the seat covers I wanted were backordered. Then I had to spend over an hour on the phone to get to a live person to cancel my order. Ordered the seat covers from Northridge (after calling to confirm them in stock) and had them in hand & installed before 4wd.com even had my refund back to me.

I have gotten so used to a long wait for everything when I ordered a specialty item (lasfit switch panel) that it confused the hell out of me when it shipped the next business day.

Same here. I ordered stuff from Quadratec on April 2, which indicated in stock. Come to find out that it’s back ordered and should ship LESS THAN 30 days. Still waiting.

we found this at Christmas time and learned very quickly to call and verify whether or not its in stock.

Sometimes checking the manufacturers store as well works. Some stuff you can just order direct & cut out the middle man. I find that you end up paying a few more bucks on shipping normally, but tends to be a tad faster.

I knew mine wasn’t in stock I ordered the tube doors in March I didn’t care because it was still cold out in Pennsylvania now it’s hot and I would like to have them in the summer

My favorite is that oh yes it's in stock but takes 3 days to finally ship out only to find its China and gonna be 3.5 weeks.

We're so used to just clicking and having it show up on the doorstep in 2-3 days! Wasn't that long ago that you filled out an order form, send off a money order, and waited till it got here......4-6 weeks was the standard!

UPS shows up at the shop with a package and I honestly have no idea what it could be anymore with the delays! Is it for a client's project or mine?

No use getting pissed - you can't fix it, you can't do a thing about it, it's no one person's or business's fault. It's a screwed up covid world with production shutdowns and reductions and companies can't find anyone to fill empty positions as things pick back up. I talked to a manager type guy with Pella Corp yesterday and he says even with incentives and promises of extra time off, bonus for sign-on, etc. - they can't fill spots in the company and they are trying to expand in several states. Can't get people to work.
I'm hearing the same thing all over.
