We're so used to just clicking and having it show up on the doorstep in 2-3 days! Wasn't that long ago that you filled out an order form, send off a money order, and waited till it got here......4-6 weeks was the standard!
Even more recent that that... We could just go to a local brick & mortar & to crazy shit like hand the person cash & leave with the product that day.

No use getting pissed - you can't fix it, you can't do a thing about it, it's no one person's or business's fault. It's a screwed up covid world with production shutdowns and reductions and companies can't find anyone to fill empty positions as things pick back up. I talked to a manager type guy with Pella Corp yesterday and he says even with incentives and promises of extra time off, bonus for sign-on, etc. - they can't fill spots in the company and they are trying to expand in several states. Can't get people to work.
I'm hearing the same thing all over.
That’s because, at least partially, the unemployment benefits are so high right now. I think that will change as the higher benefits expire, or states opt out as Texas is doing.
As far as the rest of it goes, one of my biggest faults as a person is lack of patience and frustration if things don’t work as I expect them too:/

Order from Amazon or a reputable seller on eBay, generally both provide accurate delivery dates, and there is recourse for they are not accurate.

It's bad enough for Jeep parts but I keep running into the same delays getting raw materials for my biz! That's how I pay for my parts. Can't wait until this crap gets back to normal.

As long as the government pays better to not work, we'll have this issue.

I operate a repair and retail shop that specializes in off road vehicles.

I gave up long ago with trying to satisfy the walk in client. I could have 1mil in inventory, still not have what a person was looking for due to so many choices, and even if I did have it.......I had to ask more than the internet for the item.

From my point of view, the people have done this to themselves. The big chains are the only ones who can survive this and we know how poor the service and product quality usually is at those establishments.

First the price has to be the cheapest, then it has to show "In stock", or people wouldn't place order from them. Its all bait, hook, and reel.......

I locked my front doors 3 years ago and operate by appointment only.......No more time wasters jerking my chain all day, I get home for dinner on time now, and I make more money.

I can advise you that if something is not deemed essential it will not sniff anything resembling urgent or normal shipping. Working for one of the largest logistics companies in the world everything is backed up and will remain so likely through the year. Every major port around the world has massive congestion. On the West Coast, loaded containers are likely to sit for 2-3 or more months before even moving to a location to be offloaded. It's a 3-4 month wait to get space on vessels to ship stuff from many locations and don't even talk about Asian lanes. The steamship lines are making a fortune and so is everyone down the line and they are in no rush to get things back to normal. Shipping container prices have quadrupled in the last few months. A flat rack to or from Asia used to cost around $3,000 since the beginning of the year the prices have climbed steadily to where they are costing around $21,000 now and that is if you can get one and find space for it. Breakbulk vessels are filling so fast and they can ask any price they want. Trucking prices have skyrocketed. We are paying triple for a load now compared to the end of last year/beginning of this year. Guess what all that means ?? Trickle down. All of those costs will be passed down to us and your still going to have to wait for your stuff.

I ordered 37" Falken WP AT3's from 4 different online suppliers and called at least 5 tire shops that claimed instock. Nobody had them in stock, cancelled all orders. I finally ordered 5 tires from Truck and Gear because they told me the truth, the plain truth; I can handle it. It took 2 months before they arrived, but I got them knowing I had to wait. I canceled an order for Falcon shocks after finding them on EBAY from a supplier that claimed they had 10, they have none, no one has them. Lost my place in line. Still waiting after 4/12 arrival date. The truth goes along way with me. I will continue to make purchases from suppliers that give you the straight truth and communicate delays. I am not purchasing from retailers that misrepresent their product availability. Totally disappointed.

I ordered a Rock Hard aluminum bumper from Quadratec 5 weeks ago. It ships directly from the manufacturer. I was told they are 5-6 weeks behind.

Here in Oregon I'm surrounded by logging and sawmills, wood treatment, pulp, paper, plywood all manufactured here, but for some reason the cost is higher than anywhere else in the country. But now...with pandemic prices? It's crazy what construction lumber costs.
