So I have been looking for another set of Rubicon Fox shocks. Found a set and the guy also has a set of max tow springs. Wondering if there would be any advantage or disadvantage to running Rubicon springs on the front and the max tow springs on the rear. Mine is a Willys not a max tow Sport.

Unless you plan to never tow or have much weight in the back, I would do it. They may make the ride a little stiffer, but there will be less drop in the back when towing or carrying extra weight. The Rubicon springs in the front should give a little lift, or help offset the extra weight from a winch or steel bumper.

Would you say using the Rubicon springs in the front and max tow in the rear would take away a little od the rake?

Yes, but the rear Max Tow springs do have some height. I haven’t compared mine to a regular Sport S, but it sure did seem taller in the back.

I’m running rubicon springs in front and kept my max tow springs in rear. I’m also running 1.5” spacer in front with a full size bumper and winch.

I have Rubicon springs up front, max tow in the rear. Not a stiffer ride.
The max tow springs under mine were a tad shorter than the stock Overland rears, with the weight on though they handled the weight so the rear didn't really drop.
I can put over 1,000 pounds in the back and it sits level - before it sagged badly.

Relaxed length of max tow is shorter by an inch than Overland rear springs. But with weight on, the max tow springs handle the weight better so it was only about 1/8" lower in the back with things settled. I laid them side-by-side - plus I had to really pry down hard to get my Overland springs out, the max tow springs slipped in without pulling the axle down.

This is my truck - Rubicon springs up front (the lighter numbers) and max tow under the rear. 3/4" daystar spacers all 4 corners. Truck is shown with 1060 pounds of concrete retaining wall caps in the back.
