Prevents air from "migrating" on corners and such................

I've personally never had this happen, but had I heard about it before I did my install I would have ran the lines separate like papa did. Accept I ran valve stem into the gas fill port area so it was always out of the weather.

I’ve had air bags on different large SUVs, I went with the single point of inflation as I was told having them separate can cause a problem if you burst one bag the suspension will drop drastically as the other airbag lifts the other side. Sounded reasonable to me so it’s the way I ran them for 16 years. Easier to fill one PSI to set don’t have to try and get them even, and did not think the sideways transfer would be as much an issue as the single bag failure…Jack

They don't raise you way up - and if one blows, you pull the valve out of the other.
Drastically? It's not like these raise the truck up 3" or more. Risk is slim in any case but I figured heck, pull over, deal with it. I'd want to pull over anyway to see "what the heck just happened!"

I also like the idea of evening the truck up in case of uneven load.
Likely not a big deal either way, though. People run them both ways without issue and I've found 2 or 4 pounds doesn't make any real difference. I do even them out and tweak as needed but when I'm initially airing things up, I go several pounds at a time, switch to the other, add air there, then back and forth and haven't observed any difference with a couple of pounds.
What I'm meaning is if you have 28 in one and 30 in another - so what? The springs are different rates and the fuel tank is on one side.
Fill your truck with fuel, measure height at all 4 corners, and do that each time the tank is down about 1/4 and make note. You'll be amazed at the results.
All I'm suggesting is that you could have 3 or 4 pounds difference in the bags and likely your fuel tank will make more difference.
