What if you have traveled exactly 5 minutes back in time from the future and you are from a time 5 minutes from now. That would be cool.

On a serious note. I can't think of a way to fix it.

My JT clock is the only clock of all my Jeeps that has lost time so dang fast. I swear its like 3+ minutes a week.

Maybe we should start off with the type of screen you have issues with?

I had the base 5" on my Wrangler and Gladiator. They both worked fine.

Yeah I have the 5" on both my '18 JLU and '20 JT, it's only screwy on the JT.

That's odd. Does it keep adding time? So eventually it's like 30 minutes behind?

I had a 2018 JL and the only time I ever changed the time. Was on daylight savings changes. Weeks at a time I would let the Jeep sit.

I wonder if the unit ever loses power for very brief moments to make it lose track at such small increments. Or maybe it's just a defective unit.

Maybe it's another issue related to loose fuses. I would make sure to inspect them all and push them in. People have been having weird issues with fuses not being seated properly.

It's something easy and free to check.

There's a "Sync Time - If Equipped" option in the clock's settings. Have you tried that? I have that turned on, and my JT is always identical to the time on my phone.

Jeep's engineers have created the first GPS-controlled clock that is striving to eliminate the need for the awkward time zone. The clock changes as the vehicle travels East-West. Currently there are some issues, but overall it's the first step to eliminate the archaic time zone delineations.

I'll check in the settings today and get back to you, same with fuses.

Avocational watchmaker/professional engineer here. I don't bother with electric timepieces, but I know how they and the software/hardware in the vehicle work. You likely have a defective oscillator/timing chip on the board. Two ways to fix it:

1) Get Jeep to replace the unit. Maybe, maybe not... It's definitely an issue, but they may balk at it if anyone in the chain considers it "within spec" or some other obvious nonsense. It'll be on the order of several hundred to maybe just over a thousand dollars, which is nothing for them, but may trigger additional scrutiny. Or...

2) Pull it out, open it up, hope it's not an epoxied mess (to protect against vibration and moisture), locate the timer chip and its part number, track down the part, order it, desolder, clean, resolder. Easier than it sounds, but definitely a warranty voiding activity. If you don't value your time, you're looking at a total cost of maybe a dollar if you have the equipment and materials just laying around anyway. Maybe more if it's some weird proprietary thing (which may even make it impossible), maybe less if it's something common. It won't be a 555 "triple nickel", but as an example of the same sort of chip, those can be as cheap as a single nickel.

If there's a setting that will correct the clock at some frequency less than it's losing time, check that box and don't worry about it.
