Personally, I prefer the black top.
Especially if you’re going with the SunRider top.
The SunRider with a body-color top (unless it’s black) just looks odd.

Color match tops look better with rsi smart caps or other black toppers I think, but either or works for me. I have hydro blue with color fenders and a black top.

I've been waiting for someone to do a colorway like the above picture. If nobody does it by the time I'm ready, I'll take the plunge.
Jeep certainly knows that is a great combo. They did in on their 'Wayout' concept Gladiator.

Jeep Gladiator Textured black or body color match hard top? wayout

It seems it would not be hard to offer two-tone body/top/fenders as an option, but not likely.

i just cant see paying a 1k upcharge for a top i have to maintain even more than the standard hard top. You know it wasnt a thousand bucks more to paint that top, and then i have to worry about scratches and chipping it? no thanks.

My preference is color matched top on a JT, but a black top on a JKU. When it comes to fenders, I like the look of both, but I prefer the ease of cleaning painted ones, or aftermarket powder coated ones. Since my JTR has painted ones, I don't have any experience with the black fenders on the JTs, but the black ones on my JKU were a royal pain in the ass, to keep looking nice. The FL sun kills black plastic.....

I’m a fan of color matched everything. I got a black high altitude and I couldn’t be happier! Black on black on black!

Yeah I went color matched sting gray and love the look. Had black top and black fenders on my jku which looked great new, but the fenders looked horrible from the sunlight after a year. Really it’s just a personal preference. Some like chocolate and some like vanilla

Textured black 100%. Will match black soft doors. Eventually, when hard doors get enough dents & trail rash, they will be painted a flat black too. Just looks awesome & rugged on jeeps.

color match all the way for me. I will say something to think about for those on the fence. If you think you want color match at all, better get it from the factory out of the box. You can always get a black textured hardtop, either ordered or second hand, but to get a matching hardtop later is tough. Even if could find one same color, if painted at a different time than your Jeep, it may not quite match due to paint batch differences. Something to think about.

For me it depends on the truck color. i have Gobi and thought the contrasting black looked best for that truck color

Honestly, it took me a long time to appreciate the look of the JT. Both my wife and I thought there was something odd about the look and it took a while until we put our finger(s) on it. Most everything we saw had a soft top or contrasting black hard top and it wasn't until we started to see body color matching hard tops when we started to come around. It was just something about the more finished look of the matching top that helped sell it for me.

The funny thing is I love the black hard top on my Hyrdo Blue JKU. The Mojave I ordered has the matching top and fender flares.

Edit: Also, I don't dislike the body color top on Wranglers but I'd rather have the textured black hard top. I find my own preferences odd: Body Color Top on Wrangler = Meh / Body Color Top on Gladiator = Must Have. LOL

You cannot order color match from the dealer, after initial purchase. Its either textured black or primer black. At least that’s what I was told. I bought textured black because I didn’t wanna pay a third party to paint the primer black top and risk not getting it right.

Textured black top and fender flares for me. The top is off may-october anyway and I'm planning to replace the flares. No sense paying extra for color matching.
