Diving home on the interstate and in slow motion movie fashion, I saw a rock bounce out of a lawn care trailer. 1 second……2 seconds……BLAM. Goodbye yearly accessory budget. But wait there’s more…..the rock bounced off my windshield leaving not even a chip and landed on the hood. Had to drive about a mile with it sitting there mocking me. No broken/chipped windshield, no scratched paint. I think I used up all my luck for the rest of the year….

I hope you are correct - when mine cracked, I could have SWORN there was no chip. Never saw a chip, but a thorough cleaning pointed out a chip that was so small you needed a light shining on it and looking really close to actually see it.
Maybe you will have better luck. I had a chip and never heard or saw a rock hit it. Didn't even know there was a chip until it cracked.
Good luck - hope it holds!

Rocks must be way nicer in the South - that shit would NEVER happen in AZ. Rocks are assholes here.
THEN they burst into flames for no damn reason other than it being Tuesday, bounce away off another Jeep windshield, AND start a fire on the 17 shutting it down for six unholy hours. And then an Oldsmobuick hits you with an octogenarian looking through the steering wheel because she's 4'8". And then SHE bursts into flames because it's Tuesday. Go team!

I love this state.

So is the windsheild problem because of the angle of the windsheild? I hear about rocks and broken windsheilds a lot and not sure if it's because off roading or just the design. And does the new gorilla glass actually make a difference?

I sure hope there's not so much as a piece of lint from that rock, knowing what these crazy windshields cost. Even if you have insurance, claims aren't good either.
Did you examine it? Maybe it was a piece of sponge they left on their trailer after wiping the lawn equipment down? (Ok, a hard sponge)

Yar. The angle being what it is, you don’t really get glancing blows. Can’t speak to the gorilla glass but the research, i.e I drop the hell out of my phone, is promising.

Give me some of your luck. This morning I had my busted up glass replaced and not more than 3 hours later some kicked up a friggin pebble and it but a ding in my brand new glass. I was only going like 20 miles an hour. Luckly I keep a self repair kit in the garage. immediately set it up and filled in the spot. Hopefully that will do the trick. It pretty much doesn't look like anything happened. But I didn't want to give it a chance to spread at all in this crazy heat
