My question for all of you is... if you have the mopar steel front bumper with removable end caps, did you remove them? Why did you remove them? Or why did you keep them on?

I am considering removing them but idk yet if I’m sold on the looks :/. Would love to hear from my fellow gladiators

Personal preference for appearance only; unless you go off-road and need the additional tire approach clearance provided by removing them.

if you aren’t sold on the look, then leave them on. The nice thing about the Mopar steel bumper is the ability to switch back and forth as the mood or need strikes. If you’re strictly asking for what other forum members prefer (which is subjective): I prefer the stubby look myself.

But it’s your Jeep! Do what you like and ignore anyone who tells you how you should modify your rig. :like:

Only major concern I have with removing them is the extra protection if an accident was to occur

Good question. I’m not sure how much protection removable wings would provide vs. fixed. I’d be interested to see if there are any specs, but I’d guess it would only be for low-speed impacts.

Factory size tires. Leave it full. 12.5 wide tires. Stubby.

I went stubby on day one... I wheel in rocks so definitely a good thing to take off. Also I hate how dirt/ rocks get thrown into the wings from the tires. Pain to keep clean.

You do get better mpgs with the wings though dont you?
not sure about the metal one, the factory plastic with the goofy filler pieces did.
I vote stubby

I prefer the stubbs too, but like both looks depending on which wheels are on. Had a couple JKU Hard Rocks and stubbed them both too so it was an early move on this one.

Stubby all the way. Those 2 wings aren't doing much in a crash.

I went so stubby there’s no bumper at all… I saw this on [Banned Site]’s YouTube channel and gave it a try,, Ive had this going now for 5 or 6 months and dont plan on changing it…

As he says in the video, “its not for everyone” but I’ve grown to like the look and most that see it like its simplicity..

Stubby as well here. Extra weight and not likely to provide any value in an accident.
