Toyota wiring is the tastiest. After 4 different vehicle attacks I got these for under the hood and in/out of the motorhome. So far 100% Smells decent too.
What you get?

Just got news this morning that some furry little f&^%$er did nearly $1000 worth of damage to my wiring. I’m in Lincoln Ne. Mostly park inside (no evidence of mice) and occasionally outside. I learned that there’s a propane company in Blackhawk, CO that swears by the electronic boxes in all their vehicles. Waiting on a specific brand name and will be installing as soon as I get the truck back.

I keep reading on Jeep FB groups of people having issue with animals eating up their wires, hoses, etc
Im planning to start doing some camping and parking the Gladiator at trail heads while I ride motorcycle.... Should i be concerned about parking it for hours or days?

Have read about people taking chicken wire and making a cage around the vehicle. Others spraying Critter Ridder...?

So my wife and I just had the best laugh we’ve had in days, thanks to this picture. Full belly laugh stuff. In all seriousness, we’ve compiled an informal list (not peer reviewed) of the animals we feel would and wouldn’t be kept out by this. We’ve kept our list specific to native North American wildlife.

Would be kept out:
Docile bunnies
Small turtles

Wouldn’t be kept out:
All rodents
Foxes
Deer
Bears
Armadillos
Possums
Raccoons
Ferrets
Prairie dogs
Moles
Gophers
Ground hogs
Frogs
Lizards
Snakes
Tortoises (stronger and larger than wimpy turtles)
Ironically, Chickens
All other birds, including flightless
Bobcats
Lynx
Mountain lions
Moose
Elk
Wolverine
Sasquatch
Badgers
Tarantulas
Ermine
Feral children
Wild dogs
Coyotes
Wolves
Large worms
Small worms

As a structural improvement suggestion, that will help deter animals in no way, pool noodles around the top of the chicken wire would help reduce paint scratches.

Bought a brand new still in the crate motorcycle in 2008. Went to do it's first dyno run. Way down on power. Opened up the air filter and found this. 3 dead mice. cleaned everything out and installed new air filter. Power came up where is should be.

Went to see my oldest stepson in Bailey Co. Overnight, a critter chewed through a vac hose coming out of the fuel tank on our Grand Cherokee.

I have now installed 3 electronic devices, wrapped portions of wiring with Honda brand anti rodent tape, and purchased 2 different sprays for the under carriage of the jeep. I even zip tied several Uncle Gus' sachets to the frame. Rediculous.

I don't know then. I'm trying to remember the last time any garage space I've had hasn't been occupied by some project car or another, and I'm coming up empty. My wife had a spot in the garage for her JK for a few years at previous houses, but I don't think I've kept a car garaged in my entire life... My very first car down in Texas had a mouse climb into the AC system, and found its way to the fan (with entirely predictable results... "br-r-r-r-r-r!!!!" ::blast of fur out the vents:: stank that never fully disappeared), but that's the critteriest parked vehicular episode I can think of. I've had cars ranging from the 50s to brand new, wiring harnesses new and old, varying degrees of rust and not, etc. on and on. Not a single critter-caused electrical issue. Not for not looking either. One of my go-to moves with 50s-60s vintage vehicles is a new wiring harness and complete brake rebuild, so I've been in all manner of old wiring and I can't think of a single time I've seen any damage from non-human critters.
That mouse in the A/C reminds me of a Jeep Grand Cherokee that came into the dealership about 22-23 years ago. The complaint was a funny noise in the A/C when the fan came on. Although there was no complaint about the smell, it was obvious that something had died in the HVAC system. I pulled the blower assembly out and found a complete but dead mouse. I put it in a bag and showed it to the service advisor. The customer didn't think he should have to pay for the rodent removal. I said, "I'll just put it right back where I found it".

At this point I’ve spent over$2000 on repairs. I have THREE electronic devices attached to the battery, Honda brand "rodent tape" wrapped around what I can reach, and I spray Granpa Gus’s and rodent ridder on the underside periodically. Not to mention sticky mouse traps and moth balls strategically placed around the garage. And the little %0@#$%’s still managed to chew wires above the gas tank last month. car manufacturers (especially Jeep) should be more proactive IMO. NEVER had these problems with my Nissan, Honda, or Subaru.
