UConnect 8.4 SiriusXM favorites glitch

My 2020 Overland with the Uconnect 8.4 Nav system SiriusXM favorites are not working properly. The favorite icon will show up on the top left corner of the radio and alert normally, then it will disappear usually before I have a chance to click on it. When I go to browse then select favorites on air it will show none playing. If I scan channels I will see that there is a favorite playing. If I am quick enough to hit the favorite button, the screen where it would show the favorites playing again is empty. Then when I turn off the vehicle for a decent amount of time and come back it will be working properly, and then will eventually go back to not working. All other radio functions work properly. Has anyone had this issue, this has become very annoying. I searched for a while through the 26 pages of post topics and didn't see this issue here

I have the same thing happening with mine. There is no fix, same happened with my ram truck and my wife grand cherokee. I know when its glitching because the favourites alert only stays up for about 2 seconds rather then about 10. I work at a dealer ship and a new headunit does fix the issue short term but always comes back. I did notice that it happens more when i make a short trip and the key cycles before the power system goes to sleep. Once its shut off long enough for the vehicle to do a sleep cycle it usually works normal again.
Definitely software related so hopefully its addressed at some point.

I have the same issue. On my 3rd radio now because of it. My radio also decides to lockup and reset. Its at the dealer now and will probably turn into a star and engineering case. I’m hoping they fix it.

Nope. I went 6 months battling it with FCA. I had FCA engineers involved and had 4 radios replaced. They do not know what is causing it and as of now there are no eta on an update or fix. Anyone with this issue needs to call Jeep and complain. I complained enough I got money back for 6 months payments. I’m just going to live with it and hope they eventually come out with an update that fixes it.

That’s disappointing to hear, but thanks for the heads up. It sucks because I traded in a 2019 Ram Laramie Sport with the 12” screen and was happy to go to this radio. i thought it was similar to my 2014 Ram w the 8.4”. I liked my 2014 8.4” unit better than the 12” screen because of issues with the favorites on the 12”. I’ll be contacting Jeep for sure.

I too have experienced this a lot, 2021 JTRD w/ 8.4". Seemed to start for me during hot weather around 8K miles or so; don't know if that is in any way related. Definitely intermittent. I assumed it was a problem from XM/Sirius, but now I guess it's a problem in the radio itself.

I talked to my dealer and they told me this was a Uconnect issue and put me in contact with them. Uconnect got back to me and said this is a known issue and they have a software update coming that will fix the issue. I asked what the timeframe was and he said it was supposed to be released in the 2nd quarter of 21 and obviously it wasn’t. He said he expects it to be out by the end of the year, but that’s just a guess. Hopefully we will have the update soon.

Same with me. I was told by Uconnect that a software update was coming in October of 21. Nothing yet.

I ordered a Map update when they were on sale in August. It came with a Uconnect software update. The Favorites feature seems to be working normally. I don't have very many songs in it. Because of the reported issues, I never tried to use it before I installed the update.

I recently purchased a 2025 Nighthawk and I am sorry to say I am suffering the same uconnect problem. Favorite artist notifications randomly appear and pressing the listen now button will take me to the proper channel to listen to the song 1 time in 10. The other 9 times nothing happens. Well, sometimes I get the "Channel not available" message. What kind of junk programming is that? And I have tried the soft reset and the hard reset multiple times. I guess that update promised back in 2021 will never come.

I think this may be a SiriusXM problem. It started on my 2023 about two weeks ago. It is intermittent, and will work, stop working, and go back to working during the same trip. I watch the notification for a few seconds to see if it stays lit before trying to press it.
