Took my doors off the other day for the first time. My remote start hasn’t worked since I put them back on. It says canceled a door is open. There is no door open and I assumed a harness was loose. Went around and checked, rechecked, they are all connected and firmly seated.

Any ideas?

Seems like most folks have issues with the drivers door connector.
But curious to see if find something different.

It’s the passenger side door. You were right, there was a bent pin.

be careful with these stupid harnesses friends.

edit:
WOW I just spent 30 minutes fighting with these pins to bend them back in the correct spot.

this is a horrible harness design. Has anyone cut these off and installed harnesses that actually work?

Did you isolate which one it was by watching the dash for the open door icon?

I believe someone here has done that very thing - changed connectors.
Many automotive connectors such as the door connectors, the tail light connectors and certain others are overly complex, crazy latch schemes, Rube Goldberg (the kids will have to look that one up)

We've found out that icon doesn't always show - depending on how open the door is.
I was driving along and noticed the "dome" light was on........... tried the dash switch, no, that's not it. Aha, my wife had gotten out and opened the right rear door to get something, then got back in. I suggested to her that a door was open. We stopped, she got out, opened and closed the rear door, then got back in and closed her door making sure it was closed - dome light went out. There was never a dash icon indicating an open door.

yes that’s exactly how I figured it out. The red door open icon did not show when I opened the passenger door.

the windows would still roll down though, which is strange.

I may grab some new molex connectors and do that if this continues to be an issue.

There is an array of things that will or wont work depending on what pins are bent.
There are also warnings that can pop up too related to auto park and Stop/start.

If so equipped, BSM disabled is one of the errors. Otherwise, I've seen basics like remote mirror, door locks, windows, any combination of things, like you already mentioned.
Basically, if something doesn't work, or there's an error - check that thing.

I am engineering a replacement door connector system. It is the Aptiv (formerly Delphi) HES connector system. The are round with a quick disconnect type of slip ring. It has all three of the wire/terminal sizes that the original has. The male end is panel mountable with a nut so hopefully connecting and disconnecting can be done with one hand. I don't have all the parts yet but I believe it will fit under the Jeep's original connector cover.

I will also have all the individual components of the original door connectors. The male & female connector housing halves, both male and female crimp on terminals all three sizes of the wires used in the connector.

Nice. Take good pics and document your trials if you don’t mind. This is also on my to-do list
