Finally did something I have been wanting to do far as towing a Jeep with a Jeep and definitely put the gladiator to work considering the hills and mountains going to Tennessee from Texas. Flat ground I'd say it did alright going around 70 leaving the jeep in manual mode in between 6th and 7th gear. Curious as to how many have put in the supercharger kits or any other power mods and the results you have seen far as towing. Talked with PK with Hamburger Superchargers on their kit at the Smoky Mountain Jeep Invasion event and getting the itch course the Jeep is still new and would hate to completely void the warranty.

Yeah I wanted to stop and weigh it at a truck stop while I was towing it. I'd imagine I was between 6500 and 7000 so I would definitely say was pushing the towing capacity. Was just curious if anyone has given their JT some more power and how it performed. Traded a Ram 1500 hemi which seemed to struggle with my bay boat so went back to jeep which tows the boat just fine if not better.

Not sure just upping the power increases the tow capacity allowed...
It doesn't. But it may may towing within the specified and published limits a bit easier. But then people may tend to speed up, which again goes against towing safely as many here have said "65 max" for safe/comfortable towing.
So adding HP will likely just allow people to tow faster and less safely.
Just a thought. No idea what the OP's actual intentions are........

Not necessarily wanting to speed up, but more maintain at least the speed limit. Have trailer brakes and distribution hitch when towing this kind of weight so not trying to do anything reckless.

I have the Magnuson, with my programming and tow 2-3 times a month, with no issue. It does make it easier and vetter. I came from a 2019 Ram limited with every bell and whistle besides the 22s

Very understandable.

I had an AFE scorcher on my gladiator for a while and liked the extra power it gave me. Now when it comes to towing… A friend of mine scared me one day while day drinking wondering if towing with it would have caused any issues…

There’s no data to support that and even AFE says that it won’t cause any issues whatsoever with the engine under the load of towing. But I’m neurotic so I took it off.

That being said if you’re interested its just sitting in my garage. Pm me and we can make a deal and you can add some none warranty altering hp. (If thats a concern just disconnect it when the jt goes in for service. Thats what I did)

Yeah a trailer like that is typically around 2,500 lbs. And I'd say that Jeep on those tires is about 4,500 minimum. So you're in the 7,000 lb. ball park I would imagine. Definitely exceeding the rating for the Mojave but as long as you're careful with the proper safety equipment I wouldn't worry too much.

My rig will out pull a diesel seven ways from Sunday
I'll take that challenge six days a week and twice on Sunday. There is no way in hell a non-diesel JT is going to tow at maximum rating in 8th gear and get 12 MPG doing it. Not happening.

Actually, there is no way a non-diesel ANYTHING is going to tow in 8th gear and cruise like the diesel.

Lol not even close
What would you like me to pull and where. I am lighter, more powerful and have more cooling capability. My transmission is tuned infinitely better, and my trailer breaking is light years ahead of anything Jeep offers
