Shipping a Gladiator across the country?

I reached out to some local dealers and they want a dealer mark up of around $6,000.00 to $17,000.00 above MSRP. I contacted Gupton in Tennessee and my question is... If i can get the 8% or so below invoice would it be possible to ship the gladiator to Southern California and still save money? I am new to the buying a new car game. I have been driving the same Jeep Cherokee since i graduated high school in 2004. She is still my daily driver by the way. I had a friend find a new Dodge truck on auto trader and ship it out here from Florida for i think $1,500.00 or so in shipping. What do you guys know about shipping a Gladiator that far? Sound like a bad idea or more expensive than i think? Any advice or opinions are welcome. Thanks

Fly and drive back or you can absolutely get it shipped. Gas prices are high though I’d expect probably 2K for that. But with 8% off you’re still saving a boat load, my build for example was nearly 8K off MSRP.

Just purchased through Rob Trachtman at Tuttle Click in Irvine. I am in Southern California and this was the best pricing I found around 2% under invoice on a low option rubicon. Its not a Gupton deal, but its relatively local and they are easy to work with.

This is what got me looking into this because, if i can save $6,000.00 or more dollars maybe getting it shipped isnt such a bad idea. Ill have to look into plane tickets\ time off work and shipping costs and weigh it all out. I figure shipping is a risk of damage but its not much farther than Ohio on a train but i could be wrong as far as truck vs. train shipping the Gladiator without damage.

I want to ask too, did you have to drive into communicate with them or did they do email/phone? And did they off you 2% off the invoice or did you battle for the deal? Some dealers insist you drive in and thats not easy with work and some are pretty far in rush hour traffic.
