Bought the 2” AEV kit and am going to have it installed soon (waiting on wheels.)

Problem is that im not certain if I plan to level or not, but I know the AEV kit does NOT level, just brings it up 2”.

Was thinking of trying to source some rubicon front springs as that would likely bring the front end up 3/4 to an 1” and allow me to use the AEV setup. I could likely buy a level kit, but am not sold on the spacers on spacers idea either as it seems the “wrong” way to do it.

The issue with waiting is replacing a spring or adding a spacer after the fact is essentially the same labor as installing the kit to begin with If I have it done and the next day say “a level would be better,” I’m likely out another $300+ to replace the springs. It’s free if I do it at the same time since they are pulling the spring either way.

So-do you think a rubicon spring will level it and be the most OEM(ish) solution? I know the ride will be a little more harsh, I can live with that. Or, is there another solution that pairs with my AEV 2” kit?

fwiw, I don’t mind the rake now as it seems very subtle on the overland. The extra 1” of height on my 35x12.50x20 setup would certainly look sharp however.

That's gonna be 3.5 inches of spacers infront. Just say no.

Tons of companies make leveling springs, just grab your favorite and go for it.

Good call. I appreciate the input.
You’d recommend new leveling springs vs just finding some rubi ones also?

Rubi ones won't level you, you're gonna be short a half inch or so. Personally I prefer a little rake since it's a truck and rubi springs are super cheap so I'd recommend going that way but if you want fully level rubi won't get you there. I'd look for a set from a steel bumpered rubi though so that when you add weight upfront it won't extra sag as much and in the mean time it should get you even a little more level.

Im going to throw an 8’ on my bed rails as well as take some measurements from frame to spring seats as well. This should help me get a good idea where I “sit” currently.

Any issue with fitment switching over to a rubicon spring and the AEV kit? Doesn’t appear so as it’s the same AEV part number with only the Mojave having its own kit. Maybe I’ll start my search for some rubicon takeoffs I can get my hands on in short order.

No, no issues, same spring seats on them.

BUMP-
The eco diesel spring takeoffs are both 377AA.
I have heard that the passenger side sometimes has a different part number than the drivers. I am not certain if my overland has different part number springs left to right. Concerned that If I swap the springs to the same numbers when stock overland uses different rates left to right it could interfere with the ride etc.

Recap- doing AEV 2” spacer lift and contemplating doing diesel rubicon 377AA front springs ONLY and all 4 fox shocks. Doing this just to raise the front 3/4” with the lift if it’s even worth doing (the springs) at all.

Replying to myself…this is the first sign of insanity?

Just got under my overland and it does in Fast have different front spring part numbers for left and right. Assume that it’s safe to say I’d want to look for rubicon takeoffs that also have different part numbered springs as well. Assume it would make no difference if they were the exact same spring on each side… but the manufacturer did it for a reason.
