So my local ford dealer has a mojave with only 1000 miles on it but it has a Canadian window sticker but I've heard rumors it's a pain for warranty or recall problems that you have to do the recall in Canada etc... any truth to this and does it seem like a good deal ?

If it was made for sale in Canada, it has to go back to a dealer there for any warranty work.

Yes, a few years back FCA stopped honoring the warranty on cross-border vehicle purchases to discourage buyers from taking advantage of exchange rate fluctuations.

There are a few cases when FCA makes an exception, but I’d find out first if the warranty will be honored on this vehicle, and get it in writing, before signing on the dotted line.

Good luck.

Many years ago, I almost bought a new Canadian F-250 a dealer in San Antonio, TX had when I was working down there. They had traded trucks with a dealer in Canada. It had all the options I wanted, it was priced right, and they assured me any Ford dealer in the U.S. would honor the warranty. I was just too nervous to make that kind of investment with the potential that something would go wrong.

I traded a Canadian 2015 Taurus on my JT last September, and I didn't have any issues with warranty work around the country, and there weren't any recalls. Granted, that was a Ford...
Be wary of option packages, though, as they aren't same between the US & Canada.
And theirs are equipped with toques & mukluks.

Thanks for the add @Gvsukids

Yes, my Overland came from Canada, I purchased it used from a dealer near Chicago.

I can confirm that the factory warranty DOES NOT transfer across the border. Jeep Cares confirmed this for me as well. As soon as a Canadian Jeep crosses into the States, the warranty goes away. Mine still came with a warranty, it was a Can-Am aftermarket warranty, claiming to cover everything that the factory warranty would cover.

However, I had lots of issues with the aftermarket warranty when I needed to get my steering box replaced and my rear window leak fixed. The adjusters that were sent out weren't great and I had to try different dealerships until one finally could convince the adjuster that there actually was a problem. Even then, the aftermarket warranty covered all but $400 in repairs, stating that the labor rates at the dealership were "too high".

So, my advice, if you're serious about this Mojave, would be to get the exact warranty information from the Ford dealership in writing. Also worth discussing with them that you want the dealership to pay for anything that the aftermarket warranty decides to not cover. Aftermarket warranties can be screwy, so just make sure you're ready if you have to make a claim.

Also - make sure the cluster has been swapped over to MPH! Other than that, it's the same as any other Gladiator available.

Best of luck!
