I recently ordered a Gladiator, and since doing so I saw some mention online about the Tread Lightly discount; I'm not very familiar with it, and when I asked the dealer about it they didn't seem to know much about it, but said that if I got my member number before delivery and if Jeep was still offering the discount, that I'd get the discount, though they didn't seem to know how much the discount would be. So, before I pay for a membership, is there anything I'm missing?

Thanks in advance!

You get 1% off of invoice. You have to be a member for 30 days before you take delivery, and its totally worth the 100 bucks.

So just to be clear, the discount would be 1% of the invoice price, regardless of what other discounts or rebates I may be getting.
I think you can only use one FCA affiliate program. So as long as you arent using another one for say your job or whatever, you should be good.

You would get the 1% below invoice and any incentive Jeep is offering on top of that at the time of delivery.

Some dealers like Gupton has offered 6% below invoice just for purchasing from them, plus you would get the 1% below invoice for tread lightly and another 1% if you financed with them.

What I guess I haven't understood is with Tread Lightly, do they mean you get a discount of 1% of the invoice price (so $500 if you bought a jeep with a 50k invoice), OR does it mean you get a discount equal to the difference between MSRP and 1% below invoice (potentially a couple thousand $ on a jeep with a 50k invoice).

I've signed up for it either way, I just want to know what to expect when my order arrives (and make sure the dealership doesn't try to pull something).

Invoice price - 1% of invoice = new price

That is of course before any further negotiating, you then add tax, title, license, etc.

You can then also subtract any incentives Jeep is offering and dealer financing incentives at the time you take delivery.

Essentially, you should be starting to negotiate AT LEAST at 1% below invoice.

Dealers like Peterson and Gupton do up to 8% below invoice to begin with... so take that into account.

I used the tread lightly discount...
you need to purchase the $100 membership
2 days later I received my membership and
instructions to get my Control #
The control# is what the dealership needs to
qualify you for the (FFP) Friends and Family Pricing.
I was able to get and use the control # immediately .
I did not have to wait 30 days..
The dealer accepted it and put it in the contract.

The Vehicle: JT Rubicon Gas...fully Loaded
MSRP was $64,450.
Dealer Invoice $60,601.
FFP $ 60,070. This is what I paid using Tread Lightly ...1% under invoice.
EP....this is employee Pricing $57771 hear this is the lowest price available

I received 1% below dealer Invoice

Some on here are saying they are getting 6% or 7% under the dealer invoice.
I think they mean under the MSRP.
(EP)...Employee pricing for FCA is the lowest price Available

FWP and FFD are different. Those of us that ordered through gupton and others offering below invoice pricing are % based off FWP. Calculate FWP using the order guide available and take your percentage off that price. Plus any additional incentives offered at the time of delivery.
Your FCA # doesn't take effect till 30 days after joining(tread lightly says so themselves). Your dealer just gave you the discount with no fuss.

No, you’re wrong and should not be spreading misleading information.

My build was 54,945 X .06 = $3,296

So explain how my price at 6% is $48,918?

With 8% it’s $47,877

I purchased my membership and got an email from them, but didn't get any instructions on getting the control number; should I just try to sign in to the website now to get the control number?

At this point, I negotiated a reasonable price with the dealership (at least, reasonable considering the other local dealerships were fighting me over just selling for MSRP) and there was a rebate available when I placed the order (dealer told me I would get the better of that rebate or what is available on delivery day).

Rough part now is I could probably sell my 2 door JK for a pretty good price, but without knowing when the Gladiator will actually be delivered I'm scared to sell it and be without a 4wd when the snow arrives...

What does your build sheet have to do with anything? You just said everyone who went through Gupton was wrong.

I think they mean under the MSRP.
That is wrong, it’s misinformation. My build was over 7K off MSRP which would be 13% off MSRP.

My build sheet shows the 1% off of the dealer invoice
with the Tread Lightly discount like the person asked
at the top of this thread.
I never said anything about Gupton.

I can’t tell if you’re been being serious right now. It’s implied because what you’re referencing. Either way you’re wrong, good night.
