I've been tracking my build using Jeep Chat, it took about a month for them to collect all of the parts needed to start my build. About a month ago, I was told "All of the materials needed to start the build process have been received. The vehicle should be entering the build process very soon." I understand things are taking longer now, I just wonder what "Very Soon" means? Also, they say I'm in D1 status. Everything I read says that D1 has a firm dealer ETA, however, when I asked last night, there is no ETA yet. How long has it taken for others? I'm trying to plan out when I'm going to sell my current car. Thanks in advance.

What trim did you order?

7/27 - ordered Sport S Max Tow
7/29 - VIN
9/17 - Parts in, waiting for production

No change as of yet. Interested to see if our build dates will line up

*Sold my car awhile back due to a dealer suggested 4-6 week wait. Definitely don't advise you sell until its actually confirmed to be in the inspection/shipped stage, it only makes the wait that much worse.

Nobody can really tell you anything solid unfortunately. I just went through the same thing, ordered JTRD on 6/30 got VIN and everything right away and was in D1 until something like 9/11 and quickly showed up at the dealership on 9/14. I got impatient because it felt like I was getting the run around but then it showed up and now I'm happy!

Good luck, the wait sucks!

I ordered my Overland around Memorial Day, and was quoted dealer delivery last week of June. I picked mine up like July 3rd so I believe they were late like a week. I think it sat in inspection for an extra 5 days or something.

It depends. Based on my research here, the base models take longer, and Rubicons+ take a shorter time to get built.
I too sold my car thinking it'll be a month. As I'm seeing it'll be at least 9 weeks, I went out yesterday and bought a $1500 '05 Civic. Great car, my first time driving a Honda.

I got lucky and was given an older car by a family member a few months ago.

This let me sell my old 2009 Tacoma (for what I paid for it 2 years ago!) and sit tight on a JT factory order.

I plan on keeping the car even after the JT arrives since I have a 70 mile round trip commute every day and the extra 12 mpg really makes a difference in the wallet. That way I can do tire/suspension mods on the JT and not feel bad about killing MPG.

I ordered a Sport S with the cold weather package and the entertainment package in early August.

Entertainment package might be a hold up, I ordered a Sport S Max Tow with cold weather package and the 7" screen and popular equipment package 8/26 and mine is built and pending shipping

If you can afford it, don't sell the car until you have picked up the Jeep.

It could be damaged in transit. The jeep could have issues.

Learn from my mistake. My first new car a 2004 Subaru STi was swapped in for my purchase. I signed the papers and drove home. Immediately I noticed a pull to the left.

The dealer realigned it 3 times and couldn't feel it.

The technician would say "could not duplicate".

Because I used to work as a service writer and know the dance, I would wait. Then would take the service manager for a ride. On a road with a crown to the right, I'd let go of the steering wheel and the car would move to the left.

I eventually paid out of pocket to a race shop to align it and they got it right. But they had to shim something. I can't remember what. I got compensated for the defect, but it was a major pain in the ass and none of it would have happened if I had just DRIVEN the car before I signed for it.

Had I driven the car, I would have rejected it until they could fix the pull.

On all cars since then, I've driven them before signing the paperwork.

Keeping your old car gives you the flexibility to walk away from the deal.

Jeep chat just told me my build is in trim! They didn’t have an ETA. Hopefully I’ll get it in a month? What’s been other people’s waits after trim?
