So ,the dealer won't pop open a several hundred dollar lift kit too give you a $49 part that they cannot get separately?

Parts manager has to eat several hundred dollars to make you happy?
No, the parts manager has to open three or four clamps on a plywood box, borrow an end-link for a warranty part and figure out their shit later. (The part is publicly available and logic would say they just can't figure out how to order it or are having a technical problem of some kind. Or they are just idiots). Once they figure out how to officially order a part that I can order then they can replace it in the plywood box and then sell it. They are not eating anything besides some floor space.

I was in a similar situation regarding a Wheel Flare Kit. I upgraded to the High Rise Flare Kit and was in an accident this Spring damaging the driver side flare. The dealer kept responding that they could only get the flare as a complete kit. (It's a frigging Rubicon Fender Flare?) ... Someone within the body shop stepped in and was able to source the individual flare. It was my assumption that the dealer would be more resourceful or have options available for replacement parts not readily available to the average consumer ... didn't seem to be the case. I would just purchase a new link and move on ... at least you have a solution.

That's what I'm on the phone with the first dealer right now trying to figure out

I'm 100% certain they "can" order it, just that they "won't". If it's back-ordered then fine, I will wait. I do not understand why I have to order and supply a part that is publicly available from an OEM yet two dealers "can't".
I am equally certain that they cannot. I work in a very similar industry, and it is not at all unusual to have no ability to order a small, separate part for replacement.

You seem to be the kind of guy that people would want to help.

Quadratec isn't the OEM supplier, friend.

You've spent more time complaining on a forum about who's right or wrong than it would have taken you to replace the part. I remove the link every time I go wheeling at the trail head. If you can't do it in a parking lot with basic hand tools then you bought the wrong vehicle.

That's pretty much where I'm going with it, one last phone call with the "if I supply the part will you replace it and reimburse me for the costs of the part". It's about the principles of the matter and my time which is currently very limited. The irony is under other circumstances I'd probably

I work with the public so generally treat the people who I'm seeking help with patience, online I'm less likely to take shit. Having said that this has already taken up over an hour of my time with two dealerships.--That and the end result is I have to fix something myself (regardless or how big or small it is) isn't what I would ever allow as a standard of care in my business.

If this is actually a "can't" then that's a whole other thing.-To be honest, prior to this I wouldn't have envisioned something as simple and stand-alone as an end-link be something that someone couldn't actually order. I just didn't believe it was a possibility to not have this be an orderable part. This isn't a proprietary small washer or bushing or micro-component of something after all. The kit and the truck have been around for what, 2-3 years now?

The part is OEM is not? Who gives a crap where they get it? If it's made by MOPAR and someone else can order it by MOPAR then it stands to reason that a dealership should be able to order it?

Get the P/N from the Quadratec link and ask the parts person to see if it's available to order in their system. If not, give the Quadratec link to the service manager and ask them if they can order it there. If you haven't pissed them off too bad they might agree to that just to be done with it.

68306981AA is the front number
Different person this time and that number (also provided by another poster but thank you both) did give some traction. They seemed surprised that it actually showed up as orderable. It's indefinitely back-ordered with no ETA so they are trying to source it from other dealers in the area. If that doesn't work then I'll see if Quadratec and others actually have availability.

Part ordered at least from another dealer in the area. Nearest date for install is the 28th of October at this dealership so I'll install it myself hopefully before then. I don't piss people off in real life. Only online when arguing semantics.

That'll get you far in life. Threatening to lemon law the whole jeep over a sway bar end link that you can't post a simple picture of is the solution of a sane and rational person. The same type of person that will argue endlessly online while crying about not having any free time.

Good luck. Wear a helmet and try not to get your finger nails dirty.

This thread is an example of why I hate the internet sometimes ? This could have been solved in 1 comment yet it’s 30 replies of bickering. I’m not blaming you either, OP.
