Bags of mulch

Hey guys. Simple question. I need 60 2.5 cubic foot bags of mulch. How many can I fit in the bed per trip for those of you who have done this? Don’t want to buy too much and have nowhere to go with it when I get to the parking lot. Thanks!

In your boots, I am not so concerned about fitting them, but about weight. At say 50lbs each (what my google seach said a 2.5 cubic foot of mulch weighs) you are looking at 3,000lbs of weight in the bed.... I would maybe do three to four trips or get a trailer for this one.

This is 1 yard, which I see is 27 cubic feet. I think you may need a trailer...

Just realized the bags are actually 2 not 2.5 cubic feet. Sounds like about 3 trips is in order with 20 bags a haul. Thanks for the help guys.

Depending on your payload...

According to https://careforyourlawn.com/beginne...n using wood mulch, 2,pounds for 2 cubic feet., the mulch would only weight 20lbs. So that's one trip in a Max Tow.

I’m not a max tow. Where can I find my official payload? Door tag?

20 bags fit in the bed without going over the sides. I got 60 bags when lowes had them on sale for $2 this spring...

Yes, door tag should tell you. Mine is 1,007lbs.

I got 30 bags in my ranger so you should get at least 40 in the gladiator. You can always rent a $20 truck from home depot for 75mins and load a whole pallet.

Hauled dozens of bags last summer, made multiple trips. I learned ordering 8 pallets and having them delivered was cheaper and easier

That is 1165 less your weight, the weight of stuff in your vehicle, and the weight of gas in your tanks. See my payload thread

Just an update, 3 trips of 20 did the trick and FYI for anyone curious, 23 would be the magic number to sit flush with the top of the bed.
