Jeep® Brand Debuts 'Path Connected' Video as Follow Up to 2021 Stellantis Software Day

December 8, 2021 , Auburn Hills, Mich. - As part of Stellantis Software Day, today the Jeep® brand posted "Path Connected," a video that provides a glimpse into how the Jeep community could personalize and enhance their off-road experience in the future with the use of connected software technology. The piece explores ideas, such as a subscription service offering pre-loaded trails, over-the-air updates, vehicle-to-vehicle communication capabilities – even without cellular connectivity – and augmented reality display.

Bad ass!! I've had this same conversation with other off-road enthusiast. It's about time, it should have been out already with the advances we already have with wireless technology.

So Uconnect 5 is finally gonna arrive. I’d say the solid guess is the Wrangler will get it later this year with the MY 23 mid year refresh the. Gladiator will follow next year. But Jeep, what the hell man?!?! Your still going to stick that small ass 8.4” screen in there when you can remove that ugly rubber bezel and cram in the larger 10.1 like every other car nowadays?

Let’s also hope they work out the bugs. I see a plethora or Uconnect 5 issues on the GCL and Ram forums.

I can’t help but think the New Bronco has pushed Jeep to innovate a little faster. The Bronco has a trail map system standard.

Trail comms sounds amazing.

Not sure why they haven't upgraded to the screen that is in the new Rams, integrating all controls into the touch screen and have integrated usb's at the top would allow people to not have so many wires for the other devices (GoPro, phone, other comms, whatever) and they would not even have to reinvent the wheel, FCA already has one in the part catalogue.....just sayin, but yes vehicle to vehicle comms without the need for external equipment would be sweet

Maybe even integrate Dash cams into the roll bar system (this way if your top/ windshield down they are still active)

There is precedence in the form of upgrading the uConnect 3 5" to uConnect 4 8.4", correct? I would think with enough money anything is possible, but some of the sensor-based stuff may not carry over.

Bout damn time, Jeep. Two days after I finalized my order, lol.

What would be very useful (for those of us who tow campers) would be a software switch you could toggle to make the Navigation camper friendly i.e. routing you around places you are not allowed to take a trailer through, or areas where there is lower clearance. My trailer is 10'5" and whilst I can get through nearly everything...what if there's a road with a 10' clearance on it? I'm kinda screwed.

For another example, in Baltimore, you cannot take I-95 through the harbor tunnels because of the LP Gas bottles on the trailer. You have to go around on the F. Scott Key bridge to avoid the tunnels. If someone out of the NE area doesn't know this, they are in trouble.

Let me guess not backward compatible so no good for anyone that currently already has a jeep. They are so far behind on tech compared to others with regard to where Wireless, Bluetooth and satellite are already at. Plus if like anything else it will have a big $$$$ to have it. Geez my daughters 2018 second hand Nissan we paid $13K for has more tech in it than my Jeep Gladiator
