I'm awaiting delivery of a new Overland in sting gray. It was in-transit when I ordered it so I couldn't order the black flares. I'm considering asking the dealer to swap them out for the black ones. I was wondering how much more expensive (assuming they are more expensive) the body colored ones are over the black ones. I'm trying to decide what would be a fair amount to pay the dealer for the swap out.

It would probably be cheaper to go through a body shop than the dealership. They will probably send it out anyway.

There are two different kinds of fenders. The textured plastic and "Unpainted" Paintable Fenders.

Get a few quotes from reputable places.

Man you can swap someone on here or craigslist pretty quick if you put them up for trade.
Or you can plasti dip or vinyl wrap them and then if you ever want to sell or go back to painted you have that option.

drivers side Fenders and bottom are vinyl.
passenger side and tailgate are plasti dip.

If I remember correctly, for 2021 I think the body colored fender option was $695

I was but it came through with white fenders - not as advertised and I didn't take it. I got this Overland instead from another dealer and it was supposed to hit Tampa on the 9th and then get to the dealer in a week or so. This is the truck except for the fact that mine has the 3 piece hard top.

Anyone can correct me if I'm wrong. I think painted fenders are more common in higher trim levels. I believe Overlands are strictly painted? Like the Sahara Wrangler.

You are correct on that, it's just that I prefer the looks of the black ones.

Definitely take it with the painted fenders that comes standard on the overland. Then, post up online to trade someone for the black plus cash.

I wonder what it cost to have a body shop install them? I don't feel like tackling the job myself.

Less likely to go off-road and be scratched.
