Didn't realize that holder went that far forward! (couldn't tell from pic) but glad the image of the sensor led you to the solution!
Crazy how something so simple can take so much time.
I know, it was maddening and yet so simple! :)

I've found the Gladiator kicks on the headlights in brighter conditions than other vehicles. Since I drive with the instruments dimmed at night, I got tired of adjusting the brightness back and forth as the lights would come on and off as I drove throughout the day.

I now leave the headlight switch in the "O" position and simply turn the lights on manually at dusk. My vehicle prior to this was a 5th Gen 4Runner and even through it was a 2019, it still had manual headlights on the TRD Off-Road Premium package.

That probably is the easiest tack - just treat it the way we have our vehicles in the past! :)

Do you have DRL,s?
Both of our vehicles have auto headlamps and as required by Canadian law DRL,s. Never had an issue with auto lamp coming on when required. As Shadowpapa mentioned, comes on in the garage, then in bright sunlight when outside they are off but DRL,s on always.
I really like the auto feature, never have to touch the switch, ever.

Yes, I think they all have DRL. I love the auto feature now that I figured our why it was coming on during the day.

Now all Gladiator's have DRLs. Previously, it was hit or miss.
