I don't even bother having the MPG display or indicators up on the screen. I "calculate" MPG a few times a year to get an idea but don't really worry about. Its a Jeep....if I cared the least beat about MPG I would not have gotten a Jeep.
Rather ironic - I got mine because it's a Jeep, yes, but also because it does get better mpg than my other truck did - especially towing.
But your point is great - how many buy a vehicle based on the MPG? Few Jeep people and really not that many others, either. That's normally not the first thing a person looking to buy asks. Just watch people in a dealership looking things over. They aren't studying that EPA number on the window sticker.

I'm keeping one of my mpg trip odometers going for the life of the vehicle. Got mine in Oct, first couple tanks were around 18 mpg and closer to 17 with it being winter. Mostly city driving and staying in 5th on the highway.

Curious to see how close the mpg numbers are between hand calc and the dash readout. They've always been within a couple tenths of a mpg in my Colorado, and makes sense since the miles portion is coming from the same source either way.

I’ve been fairly impressed with my fuel mileage. 2021 Rubicon, automatic with 2” lift and 37” BFG’s and a winch I was averaging just under 19 mpg. Until lately. We’ve been getting a bit of a chilly stretch of weather lately, with temperatures hovering around the -22F mark for a while. Now my average is 14.4 mpg I assume due in large part to the tons of warm up/idling time.
Luckily gas is super cheap here at roughly $5.29 a gallon ?

Curious how you afford to pay for fuel, let alone groceries, rent/mortgage, etc. with fuel that expensive. We are at roughly $4.00USD a gallon of diesel and I'm cringing for the every day workers in hotels and the like.

It aint easy. I love Canada in general and Alberta specifically, but our tax burden and cost of living is really high.
Our Federal government imposes an increasingly onerous ‘carbon tax’ that doesn’t do much for the planet but it sure does punish us for heating our homes or driving to work etc.
(Sorry for the brief foray into politics....please don’t ban me ?)

Mine is bad right now. I just pulled a uhaul trailer from TN to GA. It’s usually 21-22 hwy and between 17-19 in mixed driving. 2020 3.6l/8 speed Overland. Pretty much stock, just rubicon take off suspension and 285/70/18s.

13.8. On 37's, 5.13 gears, computer updated. Extremely dependable. I can get 20 when I thro my stock wheels on with my 33's, but those are SISSY LA LA tires.

33s and 5.13s must be interesting to drive. Especially, with the 8 speed.

I bet his would stay in 8th a lot better than mine. Last couple of days mine hardly ever hit 8th even at 65-70 mph because of the crazy wind we've had. I'd hit a slight grade and it would drop 2 gears to 5th. I did hit 8th now and then when it was a slight down-grade.
It's all the wind for the most part - and it's almost always windy.

(had a little road-trip down a long grade that disrupted it a touch. 22.4 mph is where it’s been. Speedo is dead on

I cheated though…it’s a diesel and a stock one. Pretty awesome. Maybe could have done better by going the speed limit at 65 but I am still a child (41 YO) so there’s that.
