I picked up my 2022 five days ago with 7 miles on it. Yesterday 1/8 at 1500 miles i crawled under to discover an oil leak. Has yours leaked after repair?

It has become blatantly obvious that VM will NEVER figure out how to seal a front timing cover. Or, maybe they just don't care.

The amount of money Stellantis is shelling out to repair all these Rams and Jeeps has got to be staggering. You're talking a minimum of $1,000 labor not including parts per vehicle. And it's the most common issue we see on the EcoDiesel. I just don't understand why they have no interest in fixing this on the production line.

I think you are confused on the free features of this engine has.

3.0L EcoDiesels come with total vehicle rust protection. It slowly feeds carefully metered amounts of engine oil to critical components that may rust (based on poor material coatings).

I know it is a new vehicle an it is a real bummer, but for real it may not be worth having the dealer tear into a new engine if it is not dripping. That surgery could cause more problems that it fixes.

Who cares, get it fixed in a year or so. It will likely just stay a weep like it is. BMWs leak oil a lot more. It's leak after leak. Not your worth your time or hassle to fix it now

It will only get worse. The Ram I had was to the point of leaving oil in the floor of my garage which is not only messy but dangerous to foot traffic. My Jeep was getting worse each time I crawled under it.

I agree it's not something you HAVE to fix right now, but at the same time I wouldn't purposefully put it off either. It'll probably take a matter of weeks to have the repair completed from the time you first report it to your dealership.

8k miles on my EcoD now and I'm in the same boat. Yet I can't find the answer either on whether this is just a factory production issue applying the gaskets/ sealant or if it's an actual part design problem (will replacing the part with another factory part fix the problem or will it be a band-aid until it leaks again)... I'd love to know the root cause of the timing chain cover and oil cooler leaks. This is my 3rd jeep and 1st oil leak, so I still count myself lucky.
