Were you ever able to reduce the water getting in? I have the factory spray in liner and with the bed rails on the side I also have this drop off from the side rail to the spray in liner. How does this gap get corrected? I'm about to pull the trigger on a tonneau and X4S is top of my list but this doesn't feel like $1k quality.
I put the seal back on but there’s just a bit of a gap still. Nothing awful. But I’m still getting water in from the sides and front. Love the cover but wish it was a bit more water tight especially on the sides.

The cover ships with a seal for the bulkhead top that is for use in that situation, but maybe the adhesive doesn't work to well in the cold. Luckily, in San Diego, I don't have that problem!

Yeah the adhesive promoter helped a bit but it hasn’t been over 30-40 for a while

I've had my x4s cover for the past couple months but finally got to my install today as I was waiting on my rack system. For the most part everything turned out as I envisioned. The only thing that bugged me was the design of the jack nuts and well nuts. I think there's room for improvement with either a different design or something stronger as one of the jack nuts broke when tightening. Either way happy with the setup. Only thing that was odd was the straps that came with my order. It's different than what I think was supposed to come in the box. I ended up just using that design to secure the straps to the side of my bed.

The straps don't go on those clamps. The clamp you have that attached to is for clamping the cover rails to the bedside. Remove the strap and attach it to the nuts and washer on the underside of the front of the cover and the straps work fine.

Hope this helps.

When it was in my box that's how they came. Already assembled together. I did see that one of baks other models does have straps with clamps like the one I have already assembled. But, do you have pictures of where those clamps would go with the "cover rails to the bedside"?

Here's where I put mine. I don't have the Trail Rail system so there's plenty of room for the clamps.

Okay so not the same exact clamps but similar. And I definitely can't use those with the rail system in the way. Thanks for the idea though.

Are we supposed to get clamps with the X4s? Mine didn’t come with any at all. Instructions didn’t mention any either

Depends what version you order. Gladiator version rails bolt into the bulkhead and rear sides. No need for clamps. Install videos show pretty much everything you need.

That’s why I was a bit confused. Mine didn’t come with clamps but got mine installed perfect. Just leaks a bit around the sides and front

You don't technically need them for the non-rail set up. It also mounts to the front of the bed and the back of the bed. I felt the mounting hardware was flimsy. I actually removed the stock hardware and used Riv-nuts and 5/16" ss hardware to mount mine to my bed. I use the clamps to provide additional support because I'm running a bed rack attached to the T-Track.

That said, my original point was that the guy had a picture of the the rollup strap attached to a bedside clamp and he didn't like the way that worked (see original pic attached). I was just pointing out that the straps should mount to the cover bolts and not the clamp.

Just trying to help. Your truck, do it how ever you want.

Anyone have a recommendation for better weather stripping / adhesive promotion? I installed mine in 60 degree weather, applied weight to it overnight, installed the tonneau, it rained, and it has already lost it's stick...

I've heard good thing about 3M 4298 Adhesion Promoter. I haven't tried it myself - yet, but I ordered some for a couple upcoming projects. I used a hair dryer on high heat this weekend to warm both the bed rail and weather strip as I applied it for my tonneau install. I found it helpful on a long run like that to have the wife hold the hair dryer as we very, very slowly apply the weather strip. The hair dryer trick has worked well putting/keeping things stuck to metal and plastic surfaces over the years for me. If that trick doesn't work with the Mopar bedliner then I'll do both the 4298 and hair dryer next time.

I’m on my 3rd set. I can’t get it to stick for more than a few days. I’ve used the 3m promoter as well, still no luck.
