The U.S. basically exports nearly the same amount of petroleum products that it imports – about $130 billion in each direction, according to census.gov. So why don’t we keep more of our domestically produced petroleum to make things easier on our citizenry? Because the government has no control over that. Oil companies sell to (and buy from) whichever buyer maximizes their profits, regardless of nationality.

So there's a shortage overseas, and they are paying our oil companies more for it...
...which makes a shortage here, and we pay more for it.

It's not politics, its greed.

So go wax the jeep and rain-x the windshield to cut down on wind resistance, air up the tires, drive like grandma, and take all the junk outta the trunk to lighten it up, and save gas.

If that doesn't work, find that road your parents took to school, the one that's uphill in both directions, and drive the opposite way!

Makes me glad I filled up yesterday for $3.34/gallon. My wife paid $3.69 this afternoon (but I bought at a town a bit north of us where it's always 15-20 cents cheaper)
Makes me glad to be retired. May have to get the little Eagle back out sooner than I wanted, or park the JT and run my wife's WK2 a lot more. 19 mpg for mine compared to 25 mpg for her Jeep.

Those people need to get off the internet. Most kids have more spine than easily offended adults.

uh no. Most kids have more mouth than even we did at their age. But almost everyone of them I've observed has almost no spine---if they aren't in a mob. They can scream slogans but can't back anything up with a serious discourse on the subject. And they sure as hell won't be willing to take it out back for a one on one and then forget it and drink a beer together the next night.
