Anyone else experienced this? It seems to be coming from right around the door handle. I've had it in to the dealer twice and they keep telling me they don't hear it. It's quite pronounced at times. I'll probably end up just taking off the door panel and looking for it myself, but knowing my luck something will be broken in there and I'll have to buy a part. I even showed the video to the service guys and they are still saying they cannot hear it.

Wow---the dealership won't admit to hearing that AFTER the video? Go to a different dealer. No way should you have to put up with that.

Check your window. My drivers side window rattles like that when its cracked and slightly down. When i put the window back up it goes away. If you put pressure on the window does the rattle go away?

Thanks, I'll check it, but I don't think that's it.

I took the door apart a few weeks ago to install a proximity lock. I assumed I could find the source of the rattle at that time. I thought it was something in the outer panel, so I left that off but I could still hear the noise while driving. I could push on the inner panel near where the door handle would be while I had the outer panel off and the noise would stop. I tried, but could not find anything behind that inner panel that seemed like it would rattle. I took the door mirror off to look behind it, and I did notice the bolts weren't very tight. There's also a spacer for the mirror in the door. I thought it might be that, so I tried tightening up the mirror bolts some. All that said, I still hear it, but it doesn't seem as bad. I'm still puzzled on exactly where it's coming from.

Now I see why the dealer didn't want to mess with it. lol

Pull your door off and drive around to see if it still does it. Isolate to door or something else. Pull freedom panel while you are at it.

You could have them check your mirror. The passenger side door mirror cover on my last company car would make a sound just like that. I only heard it when the radio was turned down, so I never bothered getting it looked at. You could also have either the service advisor or the repair tech drive the car while you're in there to make sure they hear what you're hearing.

Soft top, but I'll try the door when we have some good weather. Thx

They didn't offer to ride with me, but I suppose I could push the issue. I figured at the point I disassembled the door for the proximity lock I would own the rattle. I figure at this point they would just say I caused it.

I've had a few techs and advisors ride with me over the years if there was an issue they couldn't replicate, and each time I was able to show them exactly what was going on. Haven't been turned down once. And if I did, I'd find a new dealer. Also, show them your videos. When my head unit started going out on my '18 JLUR, it would never replicate the problem when I dropped it off at the dealer. I started taking videos on my phone every time it happened. My service advisor agreed to replace it when I showed him the 20+ time & date stamped videos I had showing the problem in action. Hope you get it figured out.

Sounds like wind squeaking past a seal. Sound projects in a weird way and not always where you think it is coming from.

Since the door window seal was already mentioned, I would suggest also checking the main front window seal and the outer door front seal.

I have used a good silicone grease like dielectric grease and run a smooth film layer across the freedom panel seals, door seal and dropped the front window down and done the front window to frame seal to alleviate like issues.

I have the exact same rattle in my 22 Gladiator Willys. I can’t figure out the cause. Has anyone here found a way to get rid of it?

sounds like the dash to me or maybe the visor hinge is loose or not clipped in all the way. Check the kick panel that covers the harness connector. Just spitting ideas.

Mine does this exact noise. If I press lightly on the top of the door panel it stops. I'll take it apart eventually and see if I can solve it - not worth trying to get a dealer to fool with it.

It’s definitely coming from my door by the mirror controls. If I apply pressure, it’ll improve. I may try to slide in some sound deadening between door and trim. I just hope it’s nothing to do with the mirror like someone suggested before.
