I got really lucky when I ordered my '22. Optioning the cold weather group also gained me the new black alloy rims from the factory. Definitely a step up from the silver Sport rims and they match the black accents perfectly. I'm planning on stepping up to 33's but I'm very conflicted on purchasing the AEV Salta's or keeping these.

I actually like those rims lol. They’re pretty nice looking.

I guess there’s a couple camps: those that prefer wheels to compliment the vehicle as a whole

And…

WHEELS!!!!!!

? ?
Lol I’ve honestly never not had OEM wheels on any of my cars, I have never bought a pair of aftermarket rims. My Camaros and challenger had nice rims, hell I think even my scion TC had nice looking rims. The only thing I ever did was plasti-dip the Camaro ones black. But most OEM rims are really generic or they’re chrome. ? I am buying rims for my gladiator though and they will be black rhino arsenals. I love their styling and I think the kinda steelie/military look fits the truck well.

I like the look of black rhino, but the ones I’ve seen up close don’t hold up. The powder coat never looks good after some use, at least the ones I’ve seen. Flaking and bubbling.

Really?! That’s not reassuring because they’re not cheap.

Agreed. Last time I was with someone who had them. I didn’t want to be rude so didn’t pout it out.

Interesting. I know they have a year warranty on the finish. I’ve seen some people complain about a few with rust on new styles but that’s all I’ve ever seen!

Maybe I’ve just seen a couple bad examples. I meant “point it out” obviously. Stupid auto spell. That’s one of the reasons I shy away from aftermarket wheels. Many just seem to end up looking rough after some use. Not all, but a fair share.

Haha I hate auto correct but I knew what you meant! I asked my co-worker who has the same truck and rims and he said he hasn’t had any issues with his and he’s had them for a few years. Hopefully you just saw some bad examples because I really like the arsenals!

The style of a close wheel really appeals to me. I do worry that cleaning mud would be a huge pita, not being able to spray in between the spokes from the outside. I still think I’ll only replace the stockers if I want functional beadlocks at some point. I can see it happening if I pop a few beads.

I thought about that but not being super knowledgeable about bead locks I shied away. I do worry about cleaning though lol. Just lay down and spray from the opposite side of the truck with my pressure washer ?

I’ve had a couple times where I’ve pressure washed the inside of the wheeel and gotten tones of back spray in my face, usually accompanied with mud and rocks. I can’t imagine doing it with no open spokes.
