Excellent install. Very clean.
Thank ya much. Tonneau cover and the cage keep it pretty well protected. The tank location is basically unused space and sticks out no further than the wheel well.

I think I’ve figured it out. Last night I lowered the spare tire and physically placed the dual compressor unit on top of the rear crossmember. It’s a tight fit between the crossmember and the bottom of the bed but definitely fits. Funny enough, two of the holes in the crossmember actually line up with the mounting holes on the compressor.
I’ve been through quite a bit of mud and this area seems to be protected fairly well by the spare tire. It will only get better when I lift my 37” spare up there. I’ll relocate the filters up into that cavity between the inner and outer bedsides and call it good. I’m installing my lift in two weeks and will mount the compressor while I’ve got the truck apart. I’ll post pictures for anyone interested once I get it complete.
I wonder which compressor is more weather proof, the ARB or the Viair? If we mount it underneath then it might make sense to use this mount...

I started to use the big 813 Fab box mount. Didn’t like how much space it took up and how it limited my cargo rail options. I’ll have it for sale soon at a discount if anyone is interested…
Get a nutsert tool and use your imagination. I ended up fabbing this up instead.

That's pretty slick! Did you buy the medium enclosure that has to mount in the trail rail? The large enclosure mounts under the rail so just wondering.

@813 Fabrication & Design, do you have the specs on your medium enclosure? How far does it stick out? Would I still be able to fit a 4x8 sheet in the bed with this installed? Trying to find a solution that still allows me that option without doing damage to the compressor/enclosure or without having to remove the compressor every time I need to get wood or metal. Maybe this under the bed idea is a good solution, just takes a little more work.

I successfully mounted it on top of the spare tire and ran the air filters up the driver bed side. It’s been there on several trips to include a hot and dusty trip to Anza Borego over Memorial weekend with no issues. It’s seen water without any issues as well.
The best part is this location is free. Make a template of the mounting holes and when you slide it up there, you’ll find two of the holes in the crossmember are an identical match. Drill the second two and you’re in business. You’ll still have 100% of your bed space.

I met a guy in the Home Depot parking lot several months ago that had his ARB twin compressor mounted exactly where you mounted yours, above the spare tire. He said it has been riding there for over a year with no problems and regularly crosses a small creek to get home every day.

Hey, the enclosure sits in closer to the bed wall than the opening of the tailgate so you should be able to still carry items that are as wide as the tailgate opening. As far as hauling wood and items in the bed, these photos should help answer your concerns :)

I’m sure there are several out there mounted in the spot. It could not fit any better in the spot. Completely out of the way.

Unfortunately with the oil burner, no good place to mount outside the cab I feel. I don’t like the idea of giving up space in the bed for cargo by permanently mounting a compressor there. I compromised and would much rather give up the space under the passenger seat up front. I went with the Kraken set up as outlined below. Good system, some short comings but overall I am happy and I can tell you in just a few months I’ve used it way more than I’ll probably ever use the lockers.

So what happened with your install??? You get it in there? I think that's where I'm going to put mine, then route the air lines to my 4xe cowl air conversion... AFTER I get it my whole Rubicon hood conversion painted and installed that is, lol...

Thinking of pickup up the new brushless twin compressors... selling my little dual compressor and tank suitcase. Love this thing, the mobility, the air gun on it... but with the 4xe cowl conversion, I'm excited!
