Rubi rims. Replace or buy one more

Just realized the spare while a full size is a garbage steel wheel. So doing a 5 tire rotation would look weird

to resolve it I need to either buy another one. Or just replace them all…. For reference below is what is current. And what i would replace them with (or similar) if i went that route

Selling the Rubi rims and tires is fairly easy.

Buying a single Rubi wheel is fairly easy.

Depends on what you want to do. I really like the Rubi rims, but I wanted to be able to add beadlocks later on so I sold the Rubi wheels and tires and went aftermarket.

But it all depends on you. There will be people here soon to sway you to what their favorite combo is. But again it all comes down to what you want to do. If you want to spend $3,000 + on new wheels and tires, go for it. If you want to save the extra money, buy 1 Rubi wheel and get the tires you want.
You may have to shop around to find a tire shop to mount oversized tires on factory wheels, corporate liability issues.

I like the RUBI wheels ,I had to go bigger rims for bigger tires.

Do keep in mind, if you're going to sell the Rubi wheels, it is easier to sell if you leave the TPMS in them.
You can't buy the TPMS you need for your JT right now, NOBODY has them.

very interesting and good to know. I would keep them. So probably wont sell them then

so i guess doing a 5 wheel rotation would be a major pita then because you would have to take the tire off to swap the tpms over? That seems really dumb. I would have thought there would be a 5th tpms in the spare then.

No, they've never put a TPMS in the spare on the JT. They figured no one would do a 5 tire rotation.

If you're going to spend that kind of money for 5 wheels and tires, kind of foolish to NOT do a 5 tire rotation.

i mean. Imo its foolish to not to a 5 tire rotation under any circumstance. It doenst make any sense to me whatsoever. Its pretty important to have tires of similar diameter otherwise your side and soider gears are constantly rotating. Not good on the highway. Would have thought by now manufacturers would have figured that out. i guess that means if you destroy a tire on a trip your replacing all 4 to continue or drive home.

No, the computer doesn't recognize the spare location. Just the 4 corners.

They detect pressure. Display it on dash.

I will keep this in mind. Not quite sure what I'm going to do just yet since the spare doesn't have a sensor it kinda makes a 5 tire rotation pointless....



Unless anyone knows if a 5th sensor can be put in and connected to the computer. That sounds like a pain though

My tire guy had no problem getting me new wheels and tires with factory sensors. Pulled the trigger on a Monday then had to wait a week for the wheels to come only ones available were not close to me.
