my sport came with painted fenders and I am running OEM LED turn signals on it from a rubicon/overland.

21 Sport S Max Tow with body color painted flares and 2 bulb unit up front. I got the smoked Morimoto Gen 2 and works like a charm.

OEM in the right. Smoked Morimoto Gen 2 on the left.

Now I see the difference from the Sport to the Sport S fenders.

I don't think the unpainted fenders can take the LEDs. A buddy has a Willys with unpainted fenders, and although he has factory Leds, he has incandescents in the fenders.

I was able to swap in OEM's on my Sport S. Pretty sure they came off a Rubicon.

That looks awesome, did you install the Morimoto turn signals yourself? Did they need a resistor?
Thanks

@Bcastle11 - yes, I did. No resistors needed.

@trizzle - I did not pull the fenders. There is really only one part of the install that would be easier by pulling the fender. There is a 'retainer plate' that holds the unit into the fender. It simply folds down, but it's tucked between the fender itself and the fender body mount. Gently pull the front of the fender away from the body just enough to where you can fold down the 'retainer plate'. Unfortunately, I did break one of the clips during that part. Everything seems ok though.

It's at about the 7:45 mark in this video:

These do NOT fit my Willys with paint colored fenders, which are halogens but have the 2 bulb set up with DRL/turn signals. Just wasted all this time after searching up and down assuming my set up would fit.

This is by far the most infuriating thing I've ever seen Jeep do. If you have Halogens on a sport and do NOT have the max tow package, I think you are absolutely screwed because apparently nobody makes an led turn signal for it.

I don't see how I can do anything but use LED bulbs at this point. So ridiculous.

Did you wire as non OEM led or did you wire as OEM led and change to led with tazer? I'm thinking if I change it worth tazer I should wire as if I had OEM LEDs

The truck is oem halogen. I didn’t do anything for wiring. I did use a tazer to set to LED, although I’m not sure if it was actually needed. I had seen some reviews stating it wasn’t necessary with that particular setup.
