Installed my lift last weekend. Took the Jeep in for an alignment right after. They double checked everything and torqued everything to spec. Drove great for 3-4 days after, but then started hearing clunking when accelerating and braking. It’s gotten steadily worse. I’ve checked and verified everything is still tight. Took it back to the shop and they confirmed everything is still torqued down. I can’t figure out what it can be. It’s not a slight sound. It has gotten more significant as time has gone on. I know there have been previous posts about this, but I didn’t see a consensus. Anyone have this happen and/or have any ideas?

I had the same issue. But I also got tires. You should check your tires balance also.

I’ve had the wheels/tires on since before the lift was installed and they were balanced. Is it possible that the lift would change that? In your case, you balanced your tires and the clunking stopped? Thanks for the response

Who did your install?
What kit?
First thing I would do is check your sway bar links and make sure they are properly installed and torqued correctly.
Then I would loosen your front and rear track bars as well as the upper and lower control arms and then rock your Jeep back and forth and then go back and tighten everything you loosened to the proper torque specs.

UPDATE

I can’t tighten bolts for shit apparently. That’s all it was.

For anyone reading this thread dealing with a similar issue, do yourself a favor and triple check all your bolts. Every. Last. One. Even if you’re certain that’s not the problem. It’ll save you time and aggravation. Trust me.

Been there. Now I carry wrenches with me, even the huge wrench the clayton rear lower control arm.
