I've kept up with most of the threads that discussed the Cover King headliner but I haven't seen anyone speaking from a place of experience with both products. This summer is tracking to be the hottest summer that we have seen in Texas recently so I'd like to add a headliner.

Does anyone have direct experience with both products that could help me make a decision? Obviously, I would follow the advice from the other threads about adding the appropriate materials under either to help with heat and sound. Which provides better sound and/or heat reduction when installed an appropriate material underneath?

Two goals:
1. Reduce the heat coming into the cab through the roof. (Most important)
2. Reduce the cabin noise.

Went with Coverking for coverage, looks great and covered all the ‘white’.
Cosmetic cover, won’t do much for sound or temperature without some sound deadening.
I did Kilmat on the top(s) and it made a huge difference. Had to adjust the Eq base down! It was vibrating the windows and rearview ?. Love the look and sound, now that it is done ✅

How hard is the sound deadening material to work with?

80 mil on the Kilmat, not hard to work with, learned from the Freedom Panels that strips are easier than ‘sheets’ on the uneven surface. And a bit of a gap is better than an overlap. Did not want a bump on the CK headliner. Thanks.

My Willys came with the Mopar front and rear headliner panels, I am thinking about replacing them with the cover king because I like the looks and over all coverage better, it has more of a made for it look.

Any issues with the headliner sagging? I've been worried that running with the hard top on and the doors off might make it come loose.

It is somewhat rigid/form fitted and with the trim on the edges, don’t think it will sag.

How does Kilmat differ from NVX SDBTK20?

The Mopar headliner sags in the middle on the rear roof section.

I didn't use enough 3M tape and the included film doesn't stick that great to the Kilmat. I got some "mechanics" spray adhesive, it's not holding well. I'm getting some of the metal adhesive from the shop at work, hopefully that will work - in fact, I've been told that I'd better REALLY want it to stay there.

I do want the Coverking staying for the life of the truck, the difference in heat and cabin noise is significant. Irreplaceable improvement, pretty bummed that Kilmat is made in Russia and not available for whatever my next project would be.

You are correct, I pulled my rear mopar out and added some industrial strength velcro strips in the sag areas. The Mopar front and rear is held in with velcro from the factory. My rear headliner fell down at the rear window in about week 3 after I bought it .

I made my own headliner. Cost less than a 100$ and a few hours of time.

I think I've seen your post about making these. They look really good. I really like the full coverage of the headliner but I am worried it won't stand up to the wind of having doors off once I put the Kilmat under it.
