As long as it keeps running. I had my last truck 20 years, hopefully this will last as long. At which point I’ll be 70 and won’t care what it is after that.
2020 JTR here. Took a bit to get used to it. Drove off the lot with the dealership setting the PSI to 41 on OEM MTs, and it felt like I was ice skating on the road. Stopped at the next local gas station, bought a cheap gauge and lowered the pressure to 37; much, much better handling. Drove the...
Then I know the guy who got the first. Kent, who they just posted about is semi-local. I’m totally looking forward to mine. Glad to know you’ve had a good experience with them. Post up pics when you get it installed.
Interesting this pops up now. Last weekend, my cousin noticed my coolant overflow was nearly empty, when I had the hood up connecting some lights to the Aux switches. I've had my truck almost 2 years to the day.
I didn't add anything from them, but I may do some diy insulating once it gets here. A buddy just built out a van conversion and did his own insulation and said he could help me with mine. Said it was pretty easy to do. I don't live where it snows, so I didn't really have to consider it too...
My JTR is my all-rounder. It's my DD, and long distance vehicle. I use it for dump runs, and as a Lowe's hauler. I don't really take it rock crawling, or mudding. It's still stock so that limits what I can do with it and that's ok because I really don't want to do those things, but I do like to...
Any National Forest or BLM land is open for use by anyone. You can even disperse camp just about anywhere on that land for free, I mean you've already paid for it in taxes. I use Gaia GPS to find trails and roads, but I live just an hour away from millions of acres of National Forests, so I've...
Find some fire/forest service roads and drive around on them. Also put it in 4H and 4L and see what they do, and how it feels. If you can air down and back up, try that too and again see how it feels and drives when you do. If you can find a skills course nearby check it out. A lot will...
I ran it to the aux switch so I could turn it off and on without having to lift the hood, but like @Summitdan said, you need to run it through a solenoid for safety and manage the flow because the draw is too much to go straight to the switches.
Bunch of electrical stuff.
Attached my KC Apollo Pros to the bumper and wired to an Aux switch.
Also ran my winch through a solenoid and to an aux switch to power it up.
And then set up Anderson connectors from the battery to the bumper so I could connect it to my compress without having to...
So I installed my lights today. Essentially this is what I did.
Took the red and black lines from the lights. I combined the red wires and connected them to the #2 Aux switch since it’s 30A and the combined draw for these halogens is 16.6A. Though I read the aux switches have a relay, I didn’t...
Looking at the Clayton site, I can only find front springs in 1.5". How would that help with sway in the rear. I've also seen folks add a Hellwig rear sway bar, have you looked at that as an option?
reviving this thread as it now pertains to my interest. I just put my deposit on an Ovrlnd canopy camper and really don't want/need a lift.
@dsundy - what did you end up doing?
Marginal performance gains in my opinion. For me I got the Rubi because it will do about 99.9% of the things I wanted it to do out of the box. I'll probably get 35"s for another 0.09% of what I need it to do and aesthetics, and I don't need to do anything else to the truck. To go to 37s...
I generally hose off the chunky bits. I hate getting that dirt smudge on the back of my pant legs getting in and out before work. If I know I won't be seeing dirt within the next month and the weather will be nice, then I'll take it to one of those do-it-yourself car washes with the soap brush...
when I looked into it, I called Chrysler financial and they provided a buy-out price. Basically the residual + what's left owed on the lease. Worked out that I wouldn't really be saving anything by buying it out early. I do plan to keep mine, but there was no rush to do it now.
