According to Jeep, all Gladiators can ford 31.5".
That said, technique matters. Go slow, and if the engine stalls, do not attempt to restart it.
I also recall guidance offered at Jeep Academy: water is not to be deeper than just below the headlights.
General advice regarding Bluetooth OBD adapters: disconnect when not in use for better security.
However . . .
As delivered from the factory, the vehicle's network is protected by two layers of protection: 1) the SGW (security gateway module) which prevents anyone from just plugging into the...
I stand corrected. Yes, lifting the axle alters the castor, but not favorably. (I was mentally assuming the control arms pivoted upon the same center, and that is not the reality.) I understand that the 'ideal' castor range for mild lifts is 5.5-6.0 degrees positive. (Fortunately, in my case...
Hi there. Though this is not a specific recommendation, I am offering an observation from my experience. I am using a 'Jeep JT cab cover'. I got it on Amazon for under $55. Features I liked include it has adjustable tie down straps and a storage bag. (This particular item is no longer...
Correct again, but there is another caveat for us: caster is not adjustable on Jeeps unless aftermarket parts are installed, such as adjustable lower control arms (LCAs). (Increasing the lift should slightly increase the caster favorably, even when using factory LCAs.). The net net is a...
As "Chasm" said, 'Need' is subjective. I installed this Teraflex leveling kit with zero issues on the 'stock' Gladiator. Still using the original LCAs, and the ride and stance very good. I did get the alignment to check the toe-in, camber and castor, and to adjust the steering wheel...
Regarding the gearing, my personal experience says you'll be good. I replaced my factory tires with 35's and am running 3.73 gears and an 8 speed automatic transmission. Tire size was recalibrated with a Tazer. The shifting felt a little wonky at first, but once the transmission reprogrammed...
You could consider Mickey Thompson Baja Boss A/T LT255/85R-17. Those are the closest metric size to 35x10.5. Also, the MTs are excellent tires! (There are several threads on those specific tires.)
Here are a couple pics I posted: https://www.jeepgladiatorforum.com/forum/threads/mickey-thompson-baja-boss-at-255-85-17-35-pizza-cutters.76291/post-1469495
My setup is a sport non-max tow with stock steel rims (17x7.5), 1.5 inch front leveler kit, stock plastic bumper, Mickey Thompson 255/85R-17 tires (which is the closest metric approximation to 10x35).
Zero rubbing. You're good!
I actually have that exact panel and charge controller. It did indeed recharge a 'dead' (8v) battery to 12+V for me. The controller is a MPPT type, which is the 'better' option, but it does not have any specific settings for AGM, standard lead-acid, lithium, etc.
Regarding that specific...
If you are using the 12V dash plug, this will not likely work because that circuit is only open when the vehicle in is ACC or RUN mode.
If you've already run a 'hot' power line (direct connect to the batteries or live power bus) into the cab (or are using the clips to connect to the battery)...
I asked my dealer about these last August. They said they show no tires in 255/85R-17. I tried because they were offering the 4 tires for three deal. My guess is if it doesn't show up in mopar.com, they can't get it.
(I ended up buying through a local tire shop. I'm 100% happy with these tires.)
I called M/T support, and they suggested 42psi. I tried that and felt too high. Using both a chalk test, and measuring wear on the tread 1,000 miles at a time, I am now running 35 psi. (I may lower to 32 next time I air down and refill to see how that feels.)
At 35-36, the ride is more than...
Unfortunately, our plans were changed at the last minute due to a family emergency, so we didn't make it to the scratchy trails. Still waiting to test. 😔
