@giskard we should try compile a real world table. I am only interested in manuals as that's what I am going to order. And I am in the same boat... I want a Sport Base, but would upgrade to Sport if it's 1200 vs 1600 payload. However if you look at the previous image i posted, jeep does list...
how well did it work spraying this hook and what's up with the hole/space the hook comes out of? also how did spraying the drain holes and the top of the bed (by the back of the cab on the bed froor) work? were they justcovered or did they spray over and the line-x not fill them?
@Mr._Bill any chance you think with the tow package there are beefed up springs or extra metal to connect that trailer hitch adding 400lbs of weight? from what I have seen online I cannot confirm.
the regular gladiator manual has a section, Specifications (8) with some of this info... how tight to torque a few things...
I asked two dealierships today to include a shop manual with my purchase and they both said, "they're only digital and nobody works on their own vehicles these days".
do you think the 1200/1600 difference is for tongue weight of a 4,000 LB payload? 10% = 400 LBS?
I did also talk to a mechanic today who thought the same thing... the decreased GVWR is because they assume if you're towing a trailer you also have more people on board.
interesting, i was at a dealiership today trying to order a 23B or 23S. 23B wasn't available. 23S he couldn't select the TracLok and his answer was "FCA hasn't paid the suppliers, not in stock/available yet like the trailer brake controller"
idk about this... anyone actually taken delivery of...
so.... 10% of 4,000 (what jeep says the manual tows) is 400 lbs and that's the difference between the 1200 / 1600...
anybody think the GVWR they're giving isn't including tongue weight or does GVWR always include tongue weight?
@Hemi I phoned jeep back and got a different girl, she was able to dig a lot and produced similar info to TFL truck.
however she wasn't able to look at or reference the gladiator brochure... still this info the jeep girl had over the phone says the manual rubicon has 1,600 of payload (like...
this is again the automagical... but from bone stock to tow package... they're listing a 50LB drop in payload...
for the Manual (top two boxes) its confusing because they have both 1200 & 1600, but you're right... 1200 with tow package and either the "sport / sport s" has 1600
THERE IS NO...
@JeepCares WOW, I just phoned 877-426-5337 to get some clarification and the girl on the phone said she doesn't know anything about the new models... I asked her, "so you don't even have access to the jeep gladiator brochure, phisical or on your website"... "no sir I do not"
correct! which build/configuration gives max payload? manual transmission sport, sport s or both?
what is confusing me is the top row of this... " / " means "or" to me
Sport / Sport S = 1,200 / 1,600
so the base only has a 1200 pay load and you have to upgrade to sport s to get the 1600?
or...
I've beed doing a bit of research yet I cannot find an answer. What configuration of Gladiator does it take to get the max payload? 1,600 LBS
The Manual only has the definition of payload on page 350... haven't been able to find an answer in here.
