The problem removing them is that there are two connectors and they are wired tightly together into one bundle. Getting one out before the other is a pain, and trying to remove both at the same time is impossible. What I found is that by taking a cord/wire and looping it around the single wire...
called
Sent them an email and it got bounced back as undeliverable. Called and asked to talk to someone about an extended warranty and they sent me to a voicemail. Nobody called me back. Called back and the same thing happened. want to get an estimate, but they don’t seem to want to play?
Something to consider…two sets of wheels/tires? I run 35’s for daily and towing our camper cross country. I throw on the 37’s for wheeling. I can also tow the camper with the 37’s if heading to Moab etc. without issue, just easier with the 35’s.
Update…found the connector to the FAD module loose. Pulled off easily without undoing the secondary retaining clip. Water came out When I removed it. Wasn’t reinstalled properly. Thinking maybe it shorted? Letting it dry out, and will retest.
OP…did you ever get this fixed? I had a similar experience, and the issue is a worn plastic bushing between the two piece axle shaft in the FAD. It allows the shaft to slip and slightly engage, causing a howling noise. There is a Star Bulletin on this issue and Jeep will fix. I recently had mine...
I'm thinking it's the FAD. The FAD is on the passenger side and the front locker is engaging the driver side. In 4wd without lockers, the power gets transferred to the side with the least resistance...which if the FAD wasn't working would be the passenger side, and this could be why I'm not...
So...as the title says, the front tires are not spinning in 4WD Hi/Lo on my 2021 JTR, 22,000 miles. However, if I engage the front locker the driver side front tire will spine, but not the passenger. This may hold the clue to the answer, but I'm having trouble wrapping my head around it? Yes...
I have a '21 JTR with low milage (28K). Thinking about getting the extended Max Care warranty. Does anyone know if you purchase the extended warranty, but an issue arises that would normally be covered by the factory powertrain's 5yr/100K, do you still have to pay the deductible?
Sold my set of four used and one new with 15/32 tread remaining for $800. They had around 5K miles on them. People wanted them for the winter as they are three peak snow rated.
Correct, the BLD acts like the foot brake I described. However it's not still not going to help like an actual locker. Again if the OP wants it mainly for snow, mud, traction on mild-mod trails, go for it. If the OP is going to rock crawl and find themselves in precarious positions, a locker...
Had one in my TJ. Great in the snow, mud, and as a daily, but as stated once a tire goes up in the air, they don't provide much help. Yes you can foot break and get it to grab a little (poor man's locker), but if you plan to wheel moderate to hard trails with it where one wheel may be in the air...
I have a 2900 pound dry weight trailer, 3500 pounds loaded. I would not want to go much heavier. I have towed it over 10,000 miles without any issues. I have a JTR with lift and run/tow with both a set of 37” and 35” tires. If I’m going to wheel and camp I tow with the 37’s. Just traveling and...
My Rubicon came with everything in that list except the power seats. Would not say it’s worth 10k extra. Additionally a lot of that is UConnect which is only free for the first year, then you have to pay….
First, make sure all your steering and suspension components are torqued to spec…there’s a good list in one of the above posts. Second, make sure your tires are well balanced, especially if you go 35’s and bigger. The larger the tire, the harder to balance and when it starts to shake (not death...
I had an issue with my re-gear on the front diff, however it took several thousand miles to appear. It turned out to be the pinion. The shop tired to reset it, but the gear pattern was trash, so they just replaced everything. it’s been fine now for several thousand miles. If yours only had a few...
