  1. For Me, No More Wheeling at Large Events

That really sucks that they treated you like that and that they started rushing to the bar. I hate that mentality and would rather get everyone out safely. It's one of the reason I wheel alone or with one or 2 close friends. I even got out of the jeep scene for a while and started riding dirt...
  2. 1 Ton and 40"s JTRD

We meet up with my mom and dad in Lake City and proceeded to explore the Alpine Loop and surrounding passes. I really like staying in the smaller towns like Silverton or lake City but Ouray has more stuff to do if your kids are older or your wife likes to shop. A stock Jeep could do all the...
  3. 1 Ton and 40"s JTRD

The drive up to Colorado was the trip that finally pushed me to put the jeep on a diet. We had to pull over in Albuquerque to force a regen. It put us into limp mode and told us to see a dealer. Luckily I had the jscan app and was able to force the jeep into regen mode and clear out the dpf...
  4. 1 Ton and 40"s JTRD

Then I had the gear ratio changed to 4.56 at one of the local shops. We decided on 4.56 to help with towing our trailer and because I figured I would move up to 40s one day. Unbeknownst to me, that day would happen much sooner than planned. The gear install was completed before our trip to...
  5. 1 Ton and 40"s JTRD

The method 706 wheels with +25mm offset were then swapped out for Method 701 wheels with 0mm offset. I'm not sure why aev wheels come with +25mm offset, this was not enough for my 12.5 in wide tires. They would occasionally rub on the lower control arms. I wish I had kept the 706 wheels...
  6. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

I did not find any inner fenders that don't require the use of rivnuts, and I couldn't reuse my stock ones. I'd rather protect my engine from debris, and waiting for some paint to dry on all the holes I had to drill and steel I cut is not that big of a deal. I'm also lucky to live in the desert...
  7. 1 Ton and 40"s JTRD

The next thing I did was install the falcon steering stabilizer and the currie currectlync steering system that came with the lift kit package I purchased from Clayton. I did not notice much of a difference, but they are definitely beefier.
  8. What did you do TO your Gladiator today? [ADMIN WARNING: NO POLITICS, NO GUN TALK]

Cut up the body for the motobilt inner fenders and installed kbd plastic fenders.
  9. Bent Axle or Blown Ball Joints/ Hub Bearing?

New motobilt inner fenders for 40s and kbd fenders went on to clear the Mickey Thompson tires. They are huge and measure 39.1 inches mounted on the jeep at 28psi.
  10. regearing causes axle tube flex?

The JL axles are stronger than the JK axles for sure, but you should probably still truss them asap if you run 37s and wheel it hard (or if hit a huge sink hole like I did). I barely noticed how far back the front axle moved when it bent at the FAD.
  11. ICON ALLOYS Rebound Pro - alternative beadlock wheel

That's good to hear. I bent one of my method wheels hitting a sink hole and with the price being so close for a new wheel, I am thinking of trying the Icons.
  12. ICON ALLOYS Rebound Pro - alternative beadlock wheel

@Discount Tire shouldn't have any issues mounting these up since they are dot legal?
  13. regearing causes axle tube flex?

    That's what she said lol
  14. regearing causes axle tube flex?

It was less than 25mph, nothing crazy. I was taking it easy because it was after dark, raining and I was just putting along after testing out some changes I made to my ar22. I definitely was not bombing down the desert at high speed, but I still hit the bump stops hard enough to bend the...
  15. What did you do WITH your Gladiator today?

Had to ride my bike to the tire shop to pick up the truck with its new 40s and the old tires. Also saw one of those cool Suzuki Jimny trucks at the shop too. It's front axle is so tiny and cute.
  16. regearing causes axle tube flex?

You can see how it is bent towards the rear of the jeep in this picture.
  17. regearing causes axle tube flex?

They are definitely not as strong as people believe. I would truss the front axle right away if you plan any off-road. There is a reason Jeep added that passenger crash bracket on the right side. The front axle breaks and bends at the FAD in crashes, unlike the old dana 44 on the jk's. Maybe...
  18. Best under bed storage solution now that I've moved spare tire to a bed rack

That is exactly what I am thinking. I eventually want to do the lower bed chop instead of bobbing the bed for more clearance, so I'll keep that in mind when I design it
