Iām happy with mine. 1 1/2 years in with no complaints. My only rust or discoloration is in the Allen sockets of the upward facing screw heads. I swapped out my black Sport tow hooks during the installation and trashed the red ones. If the finish breaks down later Iāll spray it with bed liner.
My grandfather would drive us around in his late ā40s Jeepster. Although it was 2WD, I was hooked. Got a ā55 M38-A1 mil surplus in high school and I was HOOKED! Iāve had many over the years, but my JT is the first to have AC, the 3rd to have a heater, and the second to have a radio. Here is a...
Hmmmā¦ā¦. I installed Bartact seat covers right out of the gate. No wear at all. Funny that the right hip of my jeans are getting thin ?. Those are some tough as nails covers!
I used the plate provided with the bumper and found it to be quite good. With the truck in 4 Low, engine off and brake locked, I pulled the truck on asphalt to check it out. There was absolutely minimum flex of the winch plate. Iām very confident.
Itās funny, I generally dislike stickers. Donāt like the āRUBICONā letters down the hood and black accents on the sides. But Iāve always liked the retro ā4 Wheel Driveā sticker. And have thought about buying one. I guess it is because the old ā61 Willys pickup that I hunted in so much decades...
Already had a Hurricane in a Jeep. My CJ-3B and all the M38A-1s Iāve had. Those old jeeps would go 0-60 inā¦ā¦.well maybe next week sometime ?. Actually these had the Super Hurricane engine with intake valves in the head and exhaust valves in the block. The original Hurricane was a 4 cyl flat...
Right off a new Warn M8000. I put synthetic on right away. Got a rusty old cable and guide?
No- canāt ship it. Sorry- canāt meet you 1/2 way to Iowa for free. But if you can pick up in the Duluth-Norcross-Lawrenceville GA area itās yours.
Over the years, a CJ3-B, a M38 (flat fender) at least 1/2 dozen M38A-1, a Kaiser M715 1 1/4 ton truck, ā67 Wagoneer (wish I had that one back), ā73 CJ5 (engine was blown so I dropped the tranny into the Wagoneer), a ā61 Willys pickup, Iām sure Iām forgetting a couple. Non-Jeeps included a...
Mine feels good even in the summer. Canāt beat it when you have arthritis in your hands! Some areas of the wheel get hotter than others and this seems to migrate around some. But I like it!
Iāve had a bunch of manuals over the years. The only one I liked better than the JT was my ā05 Superduty 6 speed with the low-low first gear. No need to go into low range if you just needed a quick strong and low pull. The JT manual is great, 36,000 happy miles.
