  1. Knock off Rubicon metal bumper?

I’m happy with mine. 1 1/2 years in with no complaints. My only rust or discoloration is in the Allen sockets of the upward facing screw heads. I swapped out my black Sport tow hooks during the installation and trashed the red ones. If the finish breaks down later I’ll spray it with bed liner.
  2. Hidden Feature: You have 2 rear bumper steps....

I’m not short, but I’m old as hell.
  3. Yay or Nay and Why?

i think most of these ā€œAngry Eyeā€ Jeeps are Mall-Cruisers. Hell, if I was a Jeep, I’d be pissed at that, too.
  4. Who got you into Jeeps and why did it stick??

My grandfather would drive us around in his late ā€˜40s Jeepster. Although it was 2WD, I was hooked. Got a ā€˜55 M38-A1 mil surplus in high school and I was HOOKED! I’ve had many over the years, but my JT is the first to have AC, the 3rd to have a heater, and the second to have a radio. Here is a...
  5. Premature wear on side of drivers seat

Hmmm……. I installed Bartact seat covers right out of the gate. No wear at all. Funny that the right hip of my jeans are getting thin ?. Those are some tough as nails covers!
  6. Gladiator MEME’s

    No purely Gladiator, but good
  7. Knock off Rubicon metal bumper?

I used the plate provided with the bumper and found it to be quite good. With the truck in 4 Low, engine off and brake locked, I pulled the truck on asphalt to check it out. There was absolutely minimum flex of the winch plate. I’m very confident.
  8. Help with a lost wrench

Y’all are missing the obvious. It will likely fall back out first time you roll it!
  9. New trick

My fob never leaves my pocket unless I change pants. I even push the buttons with it in my pocket. But….that said….it’s good to know this.
  10. What is this in front of the shifter?

    My 6 speed doesn’t have this……….I love simple. ?
  11. Got rid of the butt ugly 4 wheel drive retro tailgate decal

It’s funny, I generally dislike stickers. Don’t like the ā€œRUBICONā€ letters down the hood and black accents on the sides. But I’ve always liked the retro ā€œ4 Wheel Driveā€ sticker. And have thought about buying one. I guess it is because the old ā€˜61 Willys pickup that I hunted in so much decades...
  12. A Hurricane in the future

My old CJ3-B ā€œHigh Hoodā€ with the 4cyl Super Hurricane and 5:83 diffs.
  13. A Hurricane in the future

Already had a Hurricane in a Jeep. My CJ-3B and all the M38A-1s I’ve had. Those old jeeps would go 0-60 in…….well maybe next week sometime ?. Actually these had the Super Hurricane engine with intake valves in the head and exhaust valves in the block. The original Hurricane was a 4 cyl flat...
  14. Georgia Sold: Free Winch Cable and Fairlead

Right off a new Warn M8000. I put synthetic on right away. Got a rusty old cable and guide? No- can’t ship it. Sorry- can’t meet you 1/2 way to Iowa for free. But if you can pick up in the Duluth-Norcross-Lawrenceville GA area it’s yours.
  15. How many "experienced" Jeepers do we have?

Channel iron made for an AWESOME front bumper! And a lot cheaper than my steel Rubi unit!
  16. How many "experienced" Jeepers do we have?

Over the years, a CJ3-B, a M38 (flat fender) at least 1/2 dozen M38A-1, a Kaiser M715 1 1/4 ton truck, ā€˜67 Wagoneer (wish I had that one back), ā€˜73 CJ5 (engine was blown so I dropped the tranny into the Wagoneer), a ā€˜61 Willys pickup, I’m sure I’m forgetting a couple. Non-Jeeps included a...
  17. Heated Steering Wheel Heat Intensity

Mine feels good even in the summer. Can’t beat it when you have arthritis in your hands! Some areas of the wheel get hotter than others and this seems to migrate around some. But I like it!
  18. What did you HAUL in your JT today?

Hauled some fun toys out to deer camp. Hauled a dead Falken home.
  19. Manual transmission question

I’ve had a bunch of manuals over the years. The only one I liked better than the JT was my ā€˜05 Superduty 6 speed with the low-low first gear. No need to go into low range if you just needed a quick strong and low pull. The JT manual is great, 36,000 happy miles.
  20. What did you REPAIR on your Gladiator today?

    36,000 miles and i haven’t fixed anything! ?
