There are some inexpensive bumpers out there, for sure. But I havenāt found. One Iād buy. They are either stubby or have the āmustache ā look with the turned up ends. I just donāt need or want that. The factory plastic bumper will bounce back from a lot of abuse and I personally like the design...
I like my seat up high, almost to the top. I have to constantly jack the lever up. Every morning and, if Iām in it enough, again mid-day. It seems to leak down (Iām assuming it is hydraulic). The dealer replaced the whole seat frame under warranty, but the problem is still there. Anyone else...
Iām in my 60ās. Since I have the 6-speed manual and likely canāt replace it Iāll probably drive it until one of us eventually fails. Iād say another 40 years is about right.
My ultimate goal is to die on my 102ed birthday, while making love with my new wife, who is so distraught that she has...
One must also remember that the 12,000 pull is for the first wrap on the spool. When the wraps add up the pull is dramatically reduced. You will rarely need to pull out 80 or 100 feet of cable. Sometimes 20 is all you need. But you may well need the pull strength.
Iām sure that this has been covered before but, for the life of me, I canāt find it. I would appreciate some honest feedback on the Rock Hard winch plate for the JT plastic bumper. I really donāt mind the plastic for my use, which is relatively light. It will take small knocks and bounce back...
I havenāt read every post (though I really enjoyed the antique tools). My bed has Line-X spray-in AND a hard trifold cover. Iāve a friend that will deliberately trash his bed right away āso I donāt have to worry about itā. But his floorboard is also always full of fast-food containers. Thatās...
I went from a F250 crew with an 8 1/2 foot bed to a Chevy 1500 crew 5 1/2 foot bed to the JT. I thought I liked the hauling capacity of the Super Duty. Now I realize a 5ā bed full of mulch is ALL I want to unload at a time. And with a small bed, nobody asks me to pick up crap from Costco for...
With quite a few Jeepās under my belt I can tell you that it will get better. I shift mine regularly from 2H to 4H. I do it to keep things lubed. It can even be on hard pavement as long as you arenāt turning and binding stuff up. If you have trouble going from 4H to 2H, try backing up a bit...
āConfusionā...āHunting for correct gearā...
This is exactly why I absolutely detest automatic transmissions. And precisely why I choose manuals. Now... Iām just speaking for myself and not judging. Itās just that I REALLY donāt like them.
Sport S. Not lifting. I like the truck pretty much as it is. I bought it as a practical daily driver. The most āwheeling it might see is farm roads and muddy fields. I donāt need a lift for that. When the factory highway tread 245/75/17 tires wear down Iāll go to 265/70/17 to gain slightly...
I bought a ā14 Silverado on close out in 2015. Got a great deal on it. It was my 2ed auto trans vehicle (in over 40 years of driving). My wife was really intimidated by my manual trans Super Duty and I gave in. I didnāt care for the truck AT ALL and 90% of the reason was the auto. She drove it...
How did I justify?
1- Available as a manual transmission
2- Better than the Taco
3- I wanted it
4- Iām worth it
5- better than the Taco (mentioned that already?)
My 16 year old grandson is 6ā2ā, rides in the back often and does not complain (though he does find a lot of other worthwhile crap to bit...... oh well. You get it). I went from a full sized Silverado crew to the gladiator. No complaints.
